What a gorgeous and chilled wedding Heather and Dan had over in the Lake District.
Cartmel Old Grammar Country House was their stylish wedding venue of choice, the perfect setting for a family focussed wedding!
Overlooking Cartmel Racecourse and a short walk to the infamous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding shop, it really is a picture perfect Lake District setting.
Despite the initial wedding nerves in the morning, the couple enjoyed a fun day surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Here is their wedding highlights video to show off all the ‘best bits’…
A Lake District Wedding Video
A Wedding Morning Overlooking Cartmel Races
Twisting and turning through the typical Cumbrian country roads, we arrived at the historic village of Cartmel.
Cartmel Old Grammar Country House overlooks the famous Cartmel Racecourse and even with no racing on, it still looked very impressive!
Heather was in one of the modern suites having her hair done as Bridesmaids enjoyed chatting about the day ahead.
The hair and make-up team for the day were Alice Stephens and Katrina at Bowness Bridal Hair.
There was a ‘moment’ with a spider but apart from that, all was fun yet calm.
There were definitely a few more nerves over at the Groom’s side of the wedding venue.
This always makes for a fun video edit as I can imagine it’s really nice being able to see what each others morning really looked like!
An Emotional ‘First Look’ With Dad
Even after filming so many weddings (since 2010 would you believe), I still have my favourite moments.
One of them is always the first time the Bridesmaids see their friend in her wedding dress.
But a moment that usually tops that is when Dad walks in for the first time.
Not only was filming this moment lovely, but I loved the moments that followed with them giggling through tears as the Bridesmaids fought back tears behind them.
A Very Special Page Boy and Ring Barer…
Once everyone had wiped their tears away after seeing Heather walk down the aisle, it was time for their wedding ceremony.
One of Heather’s Sister’s tried her best not to cry all the way through her wedding reading.
Followed by Dan’s Mum making everyone laugh as she tried not to cry during hers too!
It was then time for their gorgeous little Page Boy to hand over the wedding rings so they could seal their marriage with a kiss…
Confetti and Photos In The Gardens
Obviously being a Winter wedding the couple enjoyed their wedding ceremony within the Georgian Dining Room instead of outside.
But between the rain showers we managed to sneak out to Cartmel Old Grammars lovely gardens for some photos.
James Hicks was their talented wedding photographer and he made the groups photos seem easy, despite the disappearing guests!
Myself and James then kept the couple in the gardens as guests were seated for the wedding breakfast.
As much as the photographer does a little bit of directing, I like to film the inbewteen moments for the wedding video.
Our natural and relaxed styles of shooting really worked well together too, something to definitely consider when booking your wedding photography and videography!
Wedding Speeches at Cartmel Old Grammar
Guests were then grateful for the break indoors to warm back up from being outside.
The traditional Dining Room inside this gorgeous Lake District venue felt really cosy for this Winter wedding reception.
Table decor was kept simple with Willow and Fig Styling on hand to bring all the Autumnal colours together.
The traditional line up of Speeches went down a storm with LOTS of funny stories and lots of laughter!
Filming In Cartmel Village
After the speeches we dived in to the Photographer’s car to nip up to the picturesque Cartmel Village for some couple shots.
As the sun disappeared behind the traditional English pubs and archtecture of the cute village, we snuck in a few moments of the couple alone.
Keeping it relaxed by chatting and walking, the couple enjoyed a pause from their day and we got some lovely moments for their photos and video.
A First Dance At Cartmel Old Grammar
As guests arrived back in to the Reception room, their cake was set up and ready for the newlyweds.
One of the younger guests took it upon himself to create a sign for the cake, just in case anyone needed to know what it was for!
Cake cut (and sneakily eaten) the couple took to the dancefloor for their first dance to ‘Please Keep Loving Me’ by James TW.
Then it was time for guests to pile on the dancefloor and for us to capture some of their best moves…
