Llamas, Laughter & A Shark Costume: Jess & Shannon’s Rainy Day Wedding at The Wellbeing Farm
There is something truly magic about a wedding at The Wellbeing Farm. Especially if it features Llamas, TWO bespoke Bouquets featuring LEGO and Pokémon as well as some fun surprises! Even when the June weather delivers a quintessential British downpour, nothing can dampen the warmth, fun, and joy of a couple who are ready to celebrate their real love. The perfect combination for me as a wedding videographer!
When Jess and Shannon planned their dream day at The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth near Bolton, they wanted one thing above all else: a day that felt completely relaxed, genuine, and filled with laughter. As a wedding videographer based in Lancashire, capturing authentic, unscripted moments like theirs is what it’s all about and I’m so glad they put their trust in me!
A Wellbeing Farm Wedding Highlights Video
Getting Ready & A Double First Look at The Wellbeing Farm
Jess and Shannon spent their morning getting ready on-site at The Wellbeing Farm surrounded by their Mum’s and bridal party. Their stunning custom bouquets, one a handmade LEGO flowers bouquet and one a stunning Pokémon inspired piece by Maddison Rocks, sat patiently waiting for their Brides as they enjoyed their relaxed morning.
To keep the anticipation building and fun of a ‘first look’, a vintage inspired partitioned wall was set up in the room so they could share a private, emotional first look together in their dresses before heading down the aisle. They even had matching wedding Sketchers!
Their first look was closely followed by a lovely first look with their Dad’s!
I was working alongside their wedding photographer Vicky Dubois, someone I ALWAYS have fun with! Although she attracts more alternative couples, we both specialise in working with ‘camera shy’ couples and it’s why our approaches work so well together.

A Personal Ceremony & Unforgettable Moments
The personal touches didn’t stop at the Bridal prep. In a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony, Shannon’s mum, Finn, officially tied the knot for them after recently qualifying as a wedding celebrant! Having a family member lead personal vows made the ceremony feel incredibly genuine and meaningful.
Following the rainbow confetti (always a joy to film, even in the rain!) and drinks reception, it was time for the ultimate highlight: meeting the resident animals!
The Wellbeing Farm is famous for its llamas, and despite the summer rain trying its best to keep everyone indoors, Jess and Shannon were determined to get outside to meet their furry friends. After the ‘hellos’ they all took a stroll down the lane at The Wellbeing Farm with Ezra and his farm friends. Capturing them laughing through the rain with llamas in tow was absolute gold for their wedding video!
The farm friends were also a hit with the guests and I had a great time as their wedding videographer capturing all their guests reactions (which work so well on video, don’t you think??)

Baby Shark, Bridal Bibs & Evening Fun
If there’s one thing Jess and Shannon know how to do, it’s keeping their guests entertained! Despite not having speeches they had lots planned for their guests to enjoy. Before the couple were officially announced into the wedding breakfast, Shannon’s mum surprised the entire room by bursting in wearing a full shark costume to ‘Baby Shark’!
Knowing their own reputation as notoriously messy eaters, the brides also rocked custom bridal bibs at the top table while tucking into their meal! A brilliant touch that suited their lighthearted personalities perfectly.
Another highlight was also the bridal portraits printed for guests to colour in at their table!
As day turned to night, the atmosphere only got better:
The couple shared a beautiful moment dancing with their dads to ‘I Loved Her First’ (an infamous Dad Daughter dance at weddings!)
Followed by their very own first dance together with a few little spins before inviting their guests to join them on the dancefloor.

Relaxed & Fun Wedding Videography at The Wellbeing Farm
Every couple deserves a wedding video that feels like them. Definitely not a staged production or a series of awkward poses. Jess and Shannon’s wedding at The Wellbeing Farm was proof that even when the weather doesn’t play along, the real magic comes from being present, having fun, and enjoying every single second with the people you love most!
They were enjoying it so much they even forgot to dig out their inflatable dinosaur costumes (something I loved being able to try on so much I went and bought my own haha)
Whether you’re planning a rustic llama walk, a hilarious entrance surprise, or simply want a documentary-style film that lets you relive the real emotion of your day, The Wellbeing Farm is an incredible backdrop for inclusive, fun-filled celebrations.
