Ruth and Pete? Can we do your wedding day all again? Please?
I watched their wedding video back again before creating this blog post and I smiled all the way through it.
It took me right back to a wedding day that was filled with huge grins, laughter and love. And I’m just their wedding videographer!
Can you imagine how amazing it would be watching your own wedding highlights back…?
So if you’d love to see what fun I can capture at a wedding at Wyresdale Park in Lancashire, keep reading…
Wyresdale Park Wedding Video
Smiles On A Rainy Wedding Morning
Yes, I arrived to typical April showers at Wyresdale Park ready to film Ruth and Peter’s wedding day.
The guys got to enjoy a more rustic vibe getting ready in the glamping yurts within Wyresdale Park (in Scorton, Lancashire).
Ruth and her Bridal party enjoyed a more luxurious setting over in the North Wing, complete with professional hair and make-up on hand by talented Wyresdale residents, Loft Beauty.
I arrived to lots of people cooing over a tiny baby, only a few weeks old. That certainly set off my hormones, which was fun being a breastfeeding Mother away from her baby!
I also got to capture Ruth opening her thoughtful Penguin gifts (a beautiful gesture about penguins being together for life) and some lovely moments with her friends.
My favourite part to film is always the ‘first look’ with parents and then the bridesmaids. As you’ll see in the highlights video, it all got a little emotional for everyone involved!

A Personal Barn Ceremony at Wyresdale Park
The rustic ceremony barn at Wyresdale Park is such a beautiful space for a wedding ceremony of any size. The natural stone walls are a great blank canvas.
They kept things simple with Gemma at Bluebells and Daisies, with candles and natural floral decorations that added to that rustic feel.
But what made the ceremony really personal was the little touches they added to the ceremony itself.
Pete is a music teacher so Ruth walked down the aisle to a piece of music he had created himself, performed by a talented family member.
They then went on to do their own wedding vows and hinted to a love of ‘From This Moment’ during both (which had lots of people crying!)
After a VERY cool not-so-secret handshake they danced down the aisle as Mr and Mrs before getting covered in lots of confetti outside the tractor barn!

Wedding Videography at Wyresdale Park
I’ve had the pleasure of filming weddings at Wyresdale Park way before the barns were even converted in to the beautiful spaces they are now (one of my favourite weddings can be seen here!).
The staff are always incredible, not only for the couple and guests but even as wedding videographers we feel so looked after!
They also go above and beyond, you’ll spot their wedding co-ordinator Tasmin bringing the boat back to the jetty after the wind blew it across the Lake!
Relaxed and Natural Moments
After the ceremony it’s always a great time to film as guests enjoy the drinks and canapes and the wedding photographer gets to work organising the formal wedding group photos.
Obviously a load of footage of people standing and posing doesn’t really make for a great wedding video so I’m looking out for the funny moments in-between, which you’ll spot in their highlights video!
I then snuck off with Scott and Lee’s Photography to capture a few more relaxed photos of the newlyweds around the gardens and the beautiful lake.
We really are blessed with some stunning countryside in Lancashire, aren’t we?

Wedding Speeches In The White Barn
The day raced on and it was time for the couple to be cheered in to the White Barn ready for their speeches and the wedding breakfast (catered by The Striped Kitchen).
Did you know that it’s called the Wedding Breakfast as it’s the first meal together as a married couple? Makes sense as I don’t think many of us have breakfast at 4:00pm!
Each speech had the perfect mix of funny stories and getting a few tears too. Their guests clearly loved them too!

Evening Celebrations at Wyresdale Park
There’s no waiting for a room to be changed around now at Wyresdale Park. Their wedding band, The Jeps, were all set up and ready in the other barn once the speeches were over.
Before everyone took to the dancefloor we raced out to capture a stunning Lancashire sunset over the Scorton hills.
Pete then used his musical skills to surprise everyone by performing the song for Ruth and her Dad’s ‘Father and Daughter’ dance.
All before taking to the floor themselves and husband and wife.
But it wouldn’t be their wedding day without adding a bit of fun so they threw a few shapes to a mix of ‘classics’ to get the crowd going before piling on the dancefloor to Rudimental’s Feel The Love (ALWAYS gets people dancing!).
Then it was over to local band ‘The Jeps‘ to keep that dancefloor full for the rest of the evening…
