St Georges Hall in Liverpool is an iconic building in the city for many reasons.
The Grade I listed landmark has an array of ceremony rooms without the building so isn’t your typical registry office for a wedding.
Cheryl and Tom are huge fans of the City of Liverpool so it felt fitting to get married in such a historical place.
Here’s part one of their wedding celebrations for you to enjoy (part 2 features their reception the following day over in Ormskirk!)
I’d recommend starting by watching the wedding photography slideshow below to get a glimpse in to what a wonderful day they had…

Liverpool Wedding Video
and here’s their wedding Highlights video. The perfect way to relive all the fun moments over the two days of celebrations.
I love how much a wedding video can bring those moments back to life and really enhance the wedding photos as well…
A Busy Wedding Morning With Children…
I arrived at Cheryl’s Parents beautiful home in Birkdale (near Southport) to lots of hairspray and snacks on the sofa.
Cheryl was super relaxed as she had her bridal make-up done and the younger girls enjoyed having their hair perfected before adding a little sparkle to their eyes.
I couldn’t help but notice her Dad’s extensive record collection and ensured I captured some of this in the wedding photos and video.
Apparently he rotates the ones that feature on the top which inspired me to get creative with my own collection when I get home!
A Very Chilled Groom…
Our Groom was so chilled he was nearly late for his own wedding (more on that later).
After a lot of missed calls my second shooter finally pinned them down to a bar opposite St George’s Hall in Liverpool.
Here they enjoyed a few drinks with guests that arrived early to celebrate with him and his Groomsmen.
An Intimate Wedding Ceremony At St Georges Hall
The couple kept things simple with an intimate wedding in the Grand Jury Room at St Georges Hall in Liverpool.
This iconic Grade Listed building in the heart of Liverpool has a few choices for your wedding ceremony but the Grand Jury one was a must for Cheryl and Tom.
The wood paneled room feels steeped in history with it’s hanging art work and beautiful large doors to help you make an entrance!
A Grand Jury Room Ceremony
Wedding guests were invited to take their seats within the Grand Jury Room whilst everyone rushed around to get our Groom there on time (due to a mix up at the front desk with the wedding times it seems!)
Cheryl got to wait with her Bridal party in the Rose room so missed all the fuss beforehand and got to keep calm and relaxed before making her walk down the aisle.
Emotional Personal Vows
One thing I do love about civil wedding ceremonies (and celebrant led ones too) is when couples write their own vows too.
Cheryl and Tom had everyone in tears with their heartfelt words. As well as a few giggles with Cheryl’s vows!
Fun Confetti Photos On The Steps Of St Georges Hall
Now, in case you didn’t know…I LOVE confetti at weddings.
Not only are they really fun to film and photograph but it’s fun for your wedding guests too!
I love looking back over these shots and seeing everyone’s faces, the joy is clear as day!
Relaxed and Natural Couples Portraits Around Liverpool
As guests made their way to The Art School for their intimate wedding private dining reception, we snuck off for a very special portrait session.
Cheryl and Tom are big fans of the City of Liverpool (as am I) and they really wanted to capture them around the city’s iconic location.
With the help of a couple of Uber’s we headed from St Georges Hall over to the historic waterfront and liver Buildings.
Then it was on to The Georgian Quarter to take a stroll around the beautiful architecture.
I love how friendly Liverpudlians are (one reason I stayed up North!) and everyone was quick to cheer and wish the newlyweds their congratualtions as we walked around Liverpool!
An Alternative Style Of Wedding Photography in Liverpool
As this was a little different and totally tailored to Cheryl and Tom, I wanted to ensure we captured them as a couple and our wonderful city.
I wanted to keep things relaxed so I could capture more candid and genuine moments between them with as little direction as possible.
It can also help ensure you’re not feeling (or looking)
awkward in your wedding photos then too!
Fine Dining At The Art School Liverpool
We enjoyed a stroll around the Georgian Quarter before heading over to a Liverpool Michelin restaurant.
To be in keeping with their intimate wedding celebrations at St George’s Hall, the couple opted for a private dining experience at The Art School.
Guests enjoyed drinks in the cellar bar before being treated to a tasting menu in the The Moriarty Room.
The most esquisite setting for private dining, complete with inviting red armchairs and Victorian architectual features.
Before I headed off we snuck in to capture the couple in the stunning dining room…
