Sunny Southport is only a short drive from my home in Burscough and I love an excuse to enjoy that sea air!
This time it was thanks to Beth and Adam booking me as their wedding videographer that I got to capture their reception at The Waterfront Southport Hotel by the marina.
But first, it was filming her getting ready at her Parent’s house near Rufford. A home I’d been to before as I’d filmed their other Daughter (and lovely friend) Amy’s wedding morning there too!
I was treated to a Lancashire sausage butty with brown sauce AND a brew before I even managed to get my camera out of my bag! When can I come again Beth…?
So here’s a little blog to show off what an incredible fun filled wedding day Beth and Adam had…
Southport Wedding Highlights Video
A Fun and Relaxed Wedding Morning
Despite what the weather reports threatened, the sun was streaming through the windows at her Parents home near Rufford and everyone was tucking in to bacon and sausage butties thanks to Beth’s Dad.
I LOVED the sign on the door to stop anyone sneaking a peek at her wedding dress!
Over at Adam’s house in Upholland it was even more relaxed. Well, apart from trying to sort out their wedding ties!
Getting Ready For The Ceremony…
With a bit of extra juggling being a Mum, Beth got Ronnie fed before getting herself ready (always a good idea to feed the baby, even if they’re not keen!).
Beth’s smile lights up a room anyway but she was literally glowing as soon as she stepped in to her stunning wedding dress.
The First Look…
One of the moments I can’t get enough of filming, even after 13 years of being a wedding videographer, is that ‘first look’ with the Bridesmaids and parents.
This one didn’t disappoint as the reactions from everyone were amazing!
Ronnie looked super cute in his linen romper too and they added a beautiful token to Adam’s Dad pinned to his shorts.
Giggles During The Church Ceremony in Rufford
The beautiful setting of St Mary the Virgin’s Church in Rufford may have been formal but Beth and Adam’s giggles kept it fun!
From the moment the Bride walked down the aisle, they couldn’t stop sneaking glances and giggles at each other as they finally got married.
They shared their vows and exchanged wedding rings before their guests at St Mary’s and were soon skipping down the aisle as Husband and Wife!
Confetti On A Windy Day!
The sun was still shining but the wind was making an appearance just in time for the natural petal confetti outside the church!
With a little guidance from myself and their photographer Gavin Alexander (The Friendly Photographer), guests lined the long path outside St Mary’s in Rufford to shower the couple in confetti.
I always LOVE filming this bit, even if I do get a little covered in confetti myself!
Natural Wedding Videography in Southport
Obviously I’m there to capture all the important parts, like the vows and your wedding speeches.
But I know, even if you don’t yet, that those little in-between moments will be the ones you fall in love with the most when you get to watch your wedding video back.
The little connections, glances and moments between you and your guests only happen when you’re relaxed and not really thinking about being filmed.
But how do I get people to relax as a wedding videographer, especially if people hate being in front of the camera…?
It comes with experience. Filming weddings since 2010 means I’ve had the pleasure of observing people at weddings for YEARS. I’m an expert in being friendly and blending in with the wedding part.
Wedding Reception At The Waterfront Soutport
The Waterfront in Southport sits right on the Marina and has the most amazing views across the seafront from their reception area.
After filming here, I think it may be one of my favourite wedding venues in Merseyside as the setting ticks all the boxes for a stylish wedding!
Not only are the views beautiful on a sunny day, the interiors are so well thought out and the natural light spilling in makes it a joy to film there!
Time For The Wedding Speeches!
After some mingling, guests made their way to their seats as it was time for the wedding speeches.
A few tears were shed for the family who couldn’t be there but the room was mainly filled with laughter for every single speech!
Sneaking Out For Some Couple Shots On The Front…
We worked alongside their talented wedding photographer Gavin Alexander Photography all day and couldn’t wait to sneak out together to get some fun couple shots.
The Waterfront is right on the Marina so it was only a short walk to get down the steps to the front and have a gorgeous setting for a gorgeous pair!
The wind had fun dancing with Beth’s veil, but once she managed to get it under control they enjoyed some walking and chatting so I could get some natural shots for the video.
A First Dance With Baby Ronnie!
It was soon time to make their way to the dancefloor during their evening reception at The Waterfront in Southport.
Singing along together to The Calling, Adam soon swept Ronnie up and had him join them for their first dance as Husband and Wife.
This cute moment was followed by a dancefloor full of amazing moments to film, I honestly didn’t want to leave!!
How Amazing Was Beth and Adam’s Wedding?
If you were one of the lucky ones celebrating with Beth and Adam I bet you have a huge list of amazing things you loved! I’m sure they’d love to know you’ve taken the time to read this blog and watch their video. I have too many things I love about their day so I bet you have too!
What did you think? I know I want to do it all over again!
