This wedding takes me over to the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border to a stunning countryside venue called Stubton Hall.
Turns out this Groom is a self-confessed camera shy guy so the idea of being filmed on his wedding day was not top of his list!
Our Bride Leah happens to work with my Mum so coupling that with following my work on Instagram, she somehow managed to persuade Adie that filming the day was a GREAT idea.
I’m told Adie soon warmed up to my other camera guy in the morning and it shows in the footage as he begins to relax around the camera.
Their day was full of laughter, emotional moments and some epic dancing to their Michael Jackson Tribute act (including myself, glad remembering the dance to ‘Beat It’ finally came in handy!!)
So if you’re someone who would consider themselves camera shy and it’s the one big thing stopping you from booking a wedding videographer, then I think you’ll LOVE this wedding video (and this blog!).
Stubton Hall Wedding Video
A Wedding Morning At Stubton Hall
We started the day at Stubton Hall near Newark on one of the hottest days of the year.
The air con was on full blast as the girls got themselves ready in the grand interiors of this stunning country house venue nestled in the Nottinghamshire countryside.
The Flower Fairy created the stunning wedding bouquets and Hucksters worked their magic to help make the orangery and ceremony room look amazing.
An Emotional ‘First Look’
I knew early on that it was important to film Leah’s Grandad seeing her for the first time and walking her down the aisle.
Once we’d ushered everyone out the room so Leah could get ready we did a ‘first look’ with the Bridesmaids, followed by her Grandad.
I always love filming this part as it feels like a privillage to capture such an important and emotional moment for everyone.
Lots of ‘fanning’ and looking up to the celing was needed as everyone tried to stop the tears falling!
Filming The Wedding Ceremony at Stubton Hall
Stubton Hall has the most beautiful blend of modern and traditional features.
Leah walked down the most exquisit grand staircase, adored with gold framed portraits and lush deep blue carpet.
She then walked down the aisle into a fresh and modern ceremony space with simple white walls.
It really helps make the beautiful floral arch a centerpeice to their wedding ceremony at Stubton Hall.
A Very Special Ring Barer…
Their Son Spencer had the honour of being their ring barer for the wedding ceremony.
He looked really proud and stood their smiling as his Parent’s exchanged wedding rings (once his Mum has realised which finger the ring was meant to go on!)
Confetti and Photos In The Gardens
The couple danced out of the room as Husband and Wife before guests were ushered out in to the sunshine for the confetti shot.
Their photographer (Little Posy Photography) and I got ourselves in to position to capture the guests throwing the confetti and managed to get covered in petals ourselves!
Guests then enjoyed the drinks reception on the terrance whilst the children played with the lawn games.
The canapes looked incredible and I hear they tasted as good as they looked!
Little Posy Photography then got everyone together in the shade of a tree for some formal group photo.
As you’re see from the Highlights video, it’s always fun filming the in-between moments at these too!
Wedding Speeches at Stubton Hall
Guests were then grateful for the break indoors (and the air con) as they made their way in to Stubton Hall’s Orangery for the wedding reception.
As the speakers were all a little nervous and wanted to enjoy their meal, they opted for wedding speeches first.
Grandad was up first and said such wonderful things about the Bride, Leah. He had everyone crying!
Then it was time for Adie to struggle fighting back the tears as he gushed about how happy he was to marry Leah!
The Best Men and Maid of Honour also said a few words and for once, no attempts to embarrass or share silly stories…just lots of love for the couple!
A Michael Jackson Surprise Instead Of A First Dance…
Traditions state it’s then on to the first dance for the couple to kick off the evening celebrations.
But they HATED the idea of awkwardly shuffling on a dancefloor and instead wanted something more fun and exciting.
As a surprise to their guests (only myself, the photographer and the couple knew), they hired a legendary Michael Jackson tribute act to entertain their guests.
I LOVED filming this.
Not only because I’m a huge MJ music fan and know loads of the dances (not even sorry) but because it was amazing to film too!
I loved capturing the guests reactions and how they interacted with Michael Jackson, I think they all loved it too!
Fireworks At Stubton Hall
How do you top an evening filled with dancing along to an ACTUAL Michael Jackson…?
Fireworks!
Guests were ushered outside to enjoy a wonderful fireworks display by the lake at Stubton Hall.
It’s always fun as a videographer to film this as you can see and hear all the reactions from the fireworks display.
What an amazing way to end the evening before I finally crawled home to bed!
Fun and Natural Wedding Videography at Stubton Hall
I know for many, the idea of being filmed by a professional videographer sounds too much!
But that’s why my fun and natural style of wedding videography is ideal for anyone who may hate the idea of being filmed.
So whether you’re camera shy or your partner isn’t too keen, I encourage you to have a look over some of my weddings to see how natural and fun they can be.
Your Wedding Videographer at Stubton Hall…?
My experience of filming weddings since 2010 and friendly nature helped this couple get over their worries and book me to film their wedding day, maybe it’s enough to win you over too?
