Vicky and Nathan first chatted to me on a video call about potentially having me as their wedding videographer.
I think that was a blessing in disguise as our Liverpool FC shirt hanging in the hall of our home in Lancashire may’ve put Evertonian Vicky off!
They’d booked Phil Salisbury as they’re wedding photographer and knowing we worked so well together, they were excited to book us as their dream photo and video team.
From rugby in the garden, a traditional church ceremony in Penwortham and lots of fun entertainment at Beeston Manor. This day really was fun-filled and great to film!
Below is their wedding highlights video showing off all the best bits…
Beeston Manor Wedding Highlights Video
A Fun Morning Getting Ready At Home
The couple decided to enjoy getting ready at home and Vicky’s parent’s house in Lancashire.
It’s always nice filming a morning at home because of all the family memories and keepsakes around to film too.
I’m also loving seeing all the ‘Save The Dates’ and wedding invitations stuck on the fridge!
We were also included in the McDonald’s breakfast order, which is a first in my 12 years of filming weddings so thank you Vicky and your lovely Dad!
Over at Nathan’s, it was time to get ready. That included using YouTube for a refresh on tying ties!
At Vicky’s it included a very emotional ‘first look’ with Dad…
Wedding Ceremony at Penwortham
St Mary’s Church in Penwortham is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the high street.
Dating back to the 14th century, St Mary’s Church is a ancient church that is the perfect setting for a traditional wedding ceremony.
The guys arrived ready to greet their wedding guests before making their way inside for the ceremony.
Vicky arrived in her classic wedding car and they made their way up the stone path in perfect time for the 12:00pm ceremony.
A Traditional Church Ceremony
The traditional ceremony at St Mary’s in Penwortham included hymns (which everyone had been practicing) and a blessing.
Guests couldn’t contain their chuckles as Nathan tried to balance on the smallest church cushion EVER during the service!
Photos and Confetti
Once they were announced as Husband and Wife, it was time to head out of St Mary’s Church and enjoy a few family photos by the flower arch.
As Phil captured a few formal family group shots, his second photographer organised the guests ready for the confetti walk!
This is where my discreet and natural style of videography gets to capture all the ‘in-between’ moments (which tend to be more fun!).
It was then time to head over to their reception venue, Beeston Manor…
Wedding Videography at Beeston Manor
The first time I ever filmed at Beeston Manor, it was actually for a YouTube series with Nik Bryant (see that here).
And, it’s where I first met Phil Salisbury too!
So it was pretty cool to be back at Beeston Manor once more but actually shooting a real wedding alongside Phil.
Beeston Manor is a popular wedding venue near Preston, Lancashire.
This converted barn has beautiful exposed wooden beams and sandstone walls, as well as formal gardens to enjoy if the weather is nice.
Jenny, their wedding co-ordinator, was also super lovely and really looked after us!
Wedding Speeches and Entertainment
Vicky and Nathan decided the chilled wedding vibes weren’t for them and had LOADS going on during their wedding reception at Beeston Manor.
They hired Gavin Young to provide some entertainment during the meal but he also made their entrance a little more fun too.
The whole of the Bridal party and Groomsman got an exciting entrance of their own before the couple made their way to their seats.
But before they could sit down, Gavin had them dancing on the tables to set the mood for the rest of the day!
It was then on to the all important wedding speeches.
We all knew Vicky’s Dad would get emotional and it set Nathan off during his speech when he began to thank his Mum.
The Best Man decided to make a LOT of jokes about Nathan and had all the guests laughing.
Then it was time to enjoy their wedding breakfast…
An Outdoor First Dance
The weather was so lovely that all the wedding suppliers and the couple loved the idea of the first dance being outside.
Gavin set up his speakers and then it was time for the couple to take to the floor and enjoy their first dance.
Vicky also got to enjoy a dance (and lots of cuddles wiping away the tears) with her Dad before Nathan invited his Mum up too.
Guests then got to enjoy the sun setting as they danced the night away outside.
This was also the first time I’d filmed the evening dancing outside as well!
