Ahhh, the beautiful West Tower. A Lancashire venue only a few minutes drive from me in Ormskirk, it’s known for being the fairytale wedding venue!
It was the perfect setting for Nicola and Dan’s very classic wedding day with their young family.
Like lots of my couples, Nicola and Dan declared they were really camera shy and hated the idea of being filmed.
Thanks to my natural documentary style of filming I’d like to think they relaxed in to it soon enough and you wouldn’t even know…
West Tower Highlights Video
Wedding Morning Nerves and Excitement…
Nicola opted to start getting ready in the stylish Crystal Suite at West Tower before moving up to the Bridal Suite.
It’s a lovely space to relax and get ready with your Bridal party and even has a kitchen to enjoy.
Although a little nervous, everyone was really good at keeping things exciting and chatting about the day ahead.
This made for some lovely moments to film of everyone in the morning!
Arriving At West Tower in Style…
As Nicola got settled in to the Bridal Suite, Dan arrived in his dark blue Tesla with his Son and Best Man.
They wanted to arrive in style so once parked up, they lit their cigars and strolled in to the venue (all for the wedding video, apparently haha).
It was soon ready for guests to arrive and the nerves to kick in.
Due to the weather being a bit hit and miss (as per usual in Lancashire), Nicola opted for an indoor ceremony so guests were soon seated and it was time to get married…
A Personal Ceremony At West Tower
As well as having their children walk down the aisle, their daughter Ava also read out her own poem (she did SO well!).
There are so many ways to really personalise a civil ceremony and having children play a big part is a great one!
Canapes and Photos Outside West Tower
Their talented photographer Laura Wade Photography was working alongside us to help the couple feel at ease and capture some natural moments.
She’s also pretty awesome at directing and posing so the couple get some stunning editorial style moments together too.
Between photos guests got to enjoy canapes and catching up in the bar before being ushered back in to West Tower for the wedding breakfast.
Time For The Wedding Speeches!
Guests waved their napkins in the air as their welcomed the new Mr and Mrs in to the wedding breakfast room.
Then it was time for us to film their wedding speeches!
It was the Father of the Bride first, sharing some memories of Nicola growing up.
Then on to the Best Man who made some great jokes about how they (the Groom and Best Man) met and their love of Everton and Tyson Fury.
Dan then said a few words to thank people who played a part in their special day before gushing about his beautiful Bride.
Some Quiet Time Before The First Dance…
With full bellies we snuck out with the whole family to capture a few moments of them together in West Tower’s gardens.
Their youngest wasn’t so keen but it made for funny video clips capturing him doing everything to avoid the photographer!
The couple then made their way to the dancefloor to sing along to one of their favourite dance tracks.
Guests piled on to the dancefloor and enjoyed dancing the night away thanks to their amazing DJ, Lee Morrison.
A Classic West Tower Wedding!
I’m sure you’ll agree, this is the classic West Tower wedding! Really ticking all the fairytale wedding boxes.
If you stumbled across this West Tower wedding blog because you’re planning a wedding there too, then I’d LOVE to chat.
There’s also this incredible styled shoot I worked on with lots of other Lancashire suppliers, see the Behind The Scenes video for inspiration here!
I’d also recommend this other West Tower wedding here (it’s actually a vow renewal but SO worth a watch!)
