Wedding Festival Vibes in Lancashire
Laura and Matt really wanted to recreate festival vibes at their wedding in Lancashire.
After a few challenges along the way, including new wedding venues to found after already postponing their big day, they wanted to ensure they did everything to get the party started!
For me, I wasn’t just a wedding videographer that day.
Laura is also a close friend! We share a love of cheesy 90’s pop music, good food and any excuse for an afternoon tea!
It also meant my daughter Paisley got to enjoy her first EVER wedding (and my god was she excited after all the delays! haha).
So here it is, Laura and Matt’s epic wedding day and all the best bits in one Highlights video.
See if you can spot my ‘Alfred Hitchcock’ moment within the film 😉

A Chilled Wedding Morning in Shevington
My morning started with me getting myself ready as a guest for once!
The pink Boden suit I’d purchased way back in 2019 (and before I had another baby) thankfully fit and I was ready to rock being a bright pink and stylish wedding videographer/guest!
So don’t worry, I tend to be more discreet with my wedding dress choices. However, I’m happy to wear it again if requested! Ha.
I arrived to a hive of activity at Laura’s house.
She was already in the chair for hair and make-up and her Bridesmaids were keeping one eye on ‘the list’ to ensure everything was running to schedule.
The guys were enjoying a chilled morning (not forgetting the space hopper prep) as Matt awaited his surprise wedding transport, a stunning red Ford Mustang GT!

An Emotional Ceremony At St Luke’s Church, Orrell
St Luke’s Church in Orrell is such a stunning place to get married.
Matt waited nervously for Laura to arrive as the church pews filled with their excited guests.
I got to enjoy a ride in the Mustang GT as Laura made her way to the church.
Shabang Wedding Cars loved seeing how easy Laura made it look getting in to a GT with a big wedding dress!
As Laura made her way down the aisle at St Luke’s Church Matt glanced back and soon the happy tears came flooding out.
I get emotional at weddings at the best of times, never mind seeing a friend giving me all the goosebumps too.
Rings were exchanged, the loudest cheers came from the guests and they soon made their way outside as husband and wife.
Emma Billsborough (another talented mutual friend) was on professional photography duties and she set to work capturing the formal group shots.
Wedding Photography and Videography
It’s SO important picking the right wedding suppliers for your wedding day.
They’re the experts you put your trust in to ensure your wedding day looks and feels like everything you could hope for, and more!
With photography and videography, we’re one of the only suppliers who’ll be hanging out with you alllll day.
So it’s vital that you get on with them but also that they get on with each other!
Thankfully Emma and I both have super relaxed and natural styles.
We seem to see similar moments but that doesn’t mean we get in each others way, or compete for the shot.
We find ways to work alongside each other. And have fun doing it!
I even car shared with Emma so we could sneak off for some cute moments with the couple in some Lancashire fields on the way to the reception!

Wedding Reception With Festival Vibes in Lancashire
Is there a better setting than a traditional Lancashire village pub and gardens for a festival inspired wedding…?
Laura and Matt chose The Fox at Roby Mill for their more relaxed and informal wedding celebrations.
Cheshire Marquees helped create a wonderful space outside (the perfect ‘just in case’ to protect us from that Northern summer rain).
The garden was filled with bubbles, garden lawn games and musicians to entertain.
Mason King was also floating around wowing the guests with his incredible mind tricks!
Filming The Wedding Speeches
Once guests were settled it was time for the Best Men to say a few words.
Despite the nerves, they had everyone laughing along and shared some great stories of them growing up with Matt.
Laura then did her own wonderful speech and got a lot of giggles, as well as a few emotional tears from the guests!

Did Someone Mention ‘Surprise’?
Picture the scene.
I’m just sitting down after being non-stop for about 6-7 hours of being their videographer. I’m about to tuck in to the most amazing looking roast dinner when my second shooter Paul comes running at me wide eyed.
He whispers about a surprise but they won’t tell us when, just to be ready for them…
Thankfully a little bit of detective work and some gentle persuasion and I could eat my roast in peace, knowing I wasn’t risking missing the action!
What is this surprise…?
Singing Waiters!
Now, Laura is one super organised Bride so they did very well not to give the game away. And I hope our panicked faces didn’t alert anyone either!
We always love to ensure we’re capturing the big reveal so it was important to us that we were ‘in’ on the surprise!
Laura’s reaction was so worth the effort of ensuring we knew when to press record…

Evening Celebrations, Singing and a Glitter Bar!
If the Singing Waiters weren’t enough to have their wedding guests on their feet then they were in for a treat with the evening entertainment!
Mark Frith states he doesn’t do weddings.
But if he did, he would create the best vibe at a wedding. EVER.
From drunk guests forgetting the words to a good 15 minutes of a guest trying to remember how to play the guitar after a few pints…his set had everyone in stitches!
The it was time for Pat Mulligan to take over and get everyone on the dance floor following their first dance.
Our Daughter Paisley partied hard until gone 10pm and said it was the best day ever.
I think I’d have to agree…
