I love to hear that despite a couples worries or anxieties of being the center of attention on their wedding day, they still wish to have their day on video.
Hannah and Dale were honest from the start, the idea of everyone staring at them all day was not their cup of tea and they wanted a more relaxed affair.
They loved my more natural and discreet style of wedding videography and thought I’d be perfect for capturing their day at Rookery Hall in a more relaxed way.
But I’ll be honest, if you watch their wedding highlights video below I bet you won’t sense any nerves at all.
You’ll see Hannah’s smile that lights up a room and laugh along with all the cute moment from the day.
Huge fan of Dale’s beard comb to deal with that pesky confetti…
Rookery Hall Wedding Highlights Video
A Beautiful Setting At Rookery Hall, Cheshire
Built in 1816 Rookery Hall is a beautiful Cheshire wedding venue is the perfect setting for a stylish wedding.
Tucked away in the Cheshire countryside in a town called Nantwich, a wedding at Rookery Hall does feel special.
It’s also where David and Victoria Beckham got engaged (and yes, being a VB fan I knew that but loved that Dale found that fun as well haha).
Glue Guns and Last Minute Details…
In 12 years I’m pretty sure this is my first wedding making use of a glue gun on the morning of the wedding!
Whilst Hannah had her Bridal hair and make-up perfected, her Mum and Bridesmaids got to work completing her Bridal Bouquet.
Not your typical bouquet, this was made up of hand crafted paper flowers. Each petal made from a specific part of their favourite book.
A few blue tissue paper flowers were added for the ‘something’ blue and it was looking perfect.
The guys enjoyed a more relaxed morning at Rookery Hall, polishing shoes and perfecting Dale’s beard!
It was soon time to get ready and make their way to the modern ceremony room to await their close family and friends…
An Intimate Ceremony at Rookery Hall
For their wedding ceremony they chose their closest family and friends to watch them say their vows.
Lots of deep breaths, hand squeezes and a bit of giggling were some of my favourite moments of the whole day!
As I mentioned, Hannah and Dale were feeling nervous about being centre of attention.
To help them feel relaxed about their day they decided to have a smaller guest list for their intimate ceremony before welcoming the rest of their guests for drinks and canapes in the bar after.
They sealed it all with a kiss and it was off for some photos, confetti and meeting the rest of their wedding guests.
It was here Dale whipped out his comb to remove all the confetti from his beard. Genius idea!
Their incredible wedding photographer was Kelly Clarke. We LOVE working with Kelly!
Afternoon Tea Wedding Reception
Working in Theatre it was only right that Hannah and Dale showed off their love of plays and books.
Their reception styling was simple and beautiful with classic books and more of the incredible handmade paper flowers.
Guests were treated to Afternoon Tea before settling down to enjoy the wedding speeches.
Hannah’s Dad’s speech was brilliant as he gave a nod to the theatre with it written in the style of a classic playwright.
Hannah gave a beautiful speech on behalf of the couple.
I always love filming the speeches as I get an insight in to them as a couple. Their ‘How We Met’ story was so cute!
Relaxed and Candid Videography
Even after 12 years of filming weddings I’m still telling couples to make time to be whisked off for couples photos with their photographer and myself.
It’s not only a great opportunity to get a few nice moments of the two of you for the video (and your photos), it’s also a great time to press pause!
After a whirlwind of an afternoon you’ll be thankful for the break together and can chat about the day so far (whilst I film away!).
An Evening of Golf and Dancing
After the wedding speeches guests got to enjoy a mini golf course out in the gardens at Rookery Hall.
Before the newlyweds took to the floor and made everyone cry with their beautifully romantic first dance
