Why I’ve Loved Creating Fun and Natural Wedding Videos Since 2010

When I started filming weddings back in 2010, I never imagined how much joy and fulfilment it would bring me. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of capturing countless love stories, each one unique but all sharing that beautiful mix of fun and emotion.

My style is all about keeping things honest, fun, and natural – a documentary approach that lets me capture those unposed, candid moments that you’ll look back on with a smile (and maybe a happy tear or two). I work with couples who, like me, value family, meaningful relationships, and having a good laugh. My couples are often best friends as well as partners, with weddings that feel like a big celebration of love and togetherness.

I’ve always believed that a wedding video should feel like you. Not staged, not over-produced, but authentic and full of the moments that matter. After all, it’s these moments that make your day memorable.

As a documentary-style wedding videographer in Lancashire, I am going to tell you why I’ve loved creating fun and natural wedding videos since 2010!

The Joy of Capturing Natural Moments

There’s something magical about the little in-between moments on a wedding day – the ones that happen naturally, without any prompting or posing. It might be the way the bride laughs with her bridesmaids while getting ready, the look on the groom’s face as he sees his partner walking down the aisle, or the spontaneous cheers during the speeches. These are the moments that tell the story of your day.

My documentary-style wedding videography is designed to let you relax and just be yourselves. I keep things easy-going and unobtrusive, so you can focus on enjoying the day with your loved ones. There’s no need to worry about cameras being shoved in your face or awkward poses – instead, I work in the background, capturing the love and fun as it unfolds.

Couples often tell me how much they appreciate this relaxed approach. One bride shared that she was initially nervous about being filmed, but by the end of the day, she’d completely forgotten I was there! That’s exactly how it should be – a fun and natural wedding video should feel like a natural extension of your day, not a performance.

Memorable Weddings and Venues

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to film at some truly incredible venues and capture some unforgettable weddings. From stylish church ceremonies to relaxed garden parties, every wedding I’ve worked on has been unique and special.

Take Hannah and Alex’s wedding, for example. Their day started with giggles and champagne while getting ready in Chester, followed by a beautiful church ceremony at St Werburgh’s and a fun-filled reception at Pryors Hayes in Cheshire. They wanted a video that reflected their close bond with family and friends, so I focused on capturing the laughter, connections, and happy vibes that made their day so memorable.

Then there was Kirsty and Josh’s wedding at Sefton Palm House in Liverpool, a stunning venue that’s always a dream to film in. The summer sun shone brightly that day, and guests enjoyed a relaxed ceremony and reception surrounded by the Palm House’s lovely greenery and walled garden. Their fun and natural wedding video is full of smiles and the incredible atmosphere of the venue!

And I’ll never forget Hannah and Jake’s wedding on their family farm in Lancashire. After a lovely ceremony at their family church in Bickerstaffe, the celebrations continued in tipis on their lawn, creating a wonderfully personal and family-focused day. Their video perfectly reflects their personalities, love of music, and the amazing bond they share with their loved ones.

Flexible and Moment-Driven Videography

Every couple is different, which is why I’ve designed my wedding videography collections to be flexible and tailored to your needs. Whether you’re after a highlights video, a full recording of your ceremony and speeches, or something in between, I’ve got you covered. And the best part? There’s no pressure to make all your decisions upfront.

I believe in capturing as much as possible on the day – just in case! This means you’ll always have the option to add on extended edits or additional footage later, once you’ve had time to relive the day and decide what matters most to you.

Some couples find that a shorter highlights video is perfect for sharing with family and friends, while others love having longer edits to truly immerse themselves in all the details of the day. The choice is entirely yours, whether it’s weeks or even months after the wedding.

My goal is to make the process as stress-free as possible so that you can focus on enjoying your day, knowing you’ll have plenty of beautiful moments in a fun and natural wedding video to look back on!
