This wedding is a little unique as it came in ‘two parts’, as well as being captured in both photos AND video!
‘Part 1’ of their wedding actually took place the day before, with an intimate ceremony at St George’s Hall in Liverpool (you can see that fabulous part HERE).
‘Part 2’ is all about their celebrations at The Aviary Ormskirk. A contrast to the first day with a huge guest list, epic wedding BBQ and a band to get the party started!
Both days we captured the day in our usual candid and relaxed way to ensure the couple got those natural moments they wanted to look back on.

A Modern Wedding Venue in Ormskirk
This blank canvas of a wedding venue is a really modern and fresh space for any wedding celebration.
The Aviary proved to be the perfect host for their reception, providing a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces that allowed for guests to mingle with ease.
It made it interesting as a wedding photographer and videographer discreetly shooting away too between the crowds!
As a recommended supplier at The Aviary, I have the privilege of knowing the ins and outs of this wonderfully unique wedding venue like the back of my camera (get it?).

Renewing Wedding Vows At The Aviary Ormskirk
The couple decided to renew their wedding vows from the previous day and share their personal words with their guests.
Emotions still bubbled up for them both as they shared their beautiful handwritten vows to each other for a second time.
Being a discreet and sneaky documentary wedding photographer and videographer, I managed to capture a few of their guests wiping away tears as well!
Fun Confetti Photos Outside The Aviary
If I’ve learnt anything about creating an epic confetti shot, more is definitely more!
Instead of the fancy bags (that no-one keeps and aren’t very eco anyway), opt for a huge basket full of confetti.
Guests can then grab a handful and have the best time throwing it at you for the photos and video!
Relaxed and Candid Wedding Reception Photography and Video
Guests then got to enjoy a firm favourite for any Aviary wedding, the BBQ!
Whilst guests mingled and enjoyed the informal wedding breakfast, we got to snap away and capture more candid moments.
As well as sneaking in some portraits for families who had requested them!
The talented Hayley Murray sang along in the background to set a lovely tone for the afternoon.
It was then time for those all important speeches, one complete with a photo slideshow from the Father of the Bride!
Filming and Photographing The First Dance
To ensure it’s still captured as well as it can be, we film as a duo!
Two of us there, so one can focus on the video side and myself on the photography (with a bit of video too!). It ensures that your memories are captured in both for every moment, instead of needing to choose whether it’s a photo or a video clip!
It also ensure that we are focused on that one thing for you, instead of multitasking and potentially missing something important.
For Cheryl and Tom’s first dance at The Aviary they chosen one of my favourite Liverpool bands, The Lightening Seeds.
This helped keep the first dance more fun and less like an awkward shuffle on the dancefloor!
