Castlefield Rooms Wedding Videography
Claire and James wanted to celebrate their wedding day with their children in their own special way.
They chose the stylish, Manchester city centre venue ‘The Castlefield Rooms‘ in Deangate as their setting.
But instead of the usual wedding schedule they decided to keep the ceremony for their closest family and friends followed by a huge party for the evening.
No formal speeches or traditions, just one wonderful celebration of their love…and what a celebration it was!
Here’s a blog all about their beautiful and unique wedding day.
All the best moments I captured for them edited in to the perfect wedding video…

A Wedding Morning In Manchester
If you sit out for food and drinks at Dukes 92 in Deansgate you may have spotted the gorgeous cottage on the lock by the railway arches.
I’ve often wondered what it must be like to live there with the busy city racing by.
Well, it turns out the Lock Keepers Cottage is now an Air BnB and you can spend the night there!
This is where Claire chose to get ready on the morning of her wedding and it was as gorgeous as I’d imagined!
As it was Manchester, it was raining when I arrived to start filming.
But that didn’t stop everyone getting excited for the day ahead!
The flowers arrived at the same time as me and had Claire’s Mum in tears they were so beautiful (great work Flower Spot!)
The girls enjoyed getting their hair and make-up done in their matching dressing gowns before getting in to their blush coloured bridesmaid dresses.
Claire’s Enzoani wedding dress came in two stunning parts.
She admitted she didn’t think she’d like a big dress but tried one on for her daughter Frankie and fell in love.
I can see why!

The Castlefield Rooms Wedding Ceremony
James spent the morning at The V&A Marriot with his sons and Groomsmen.
He opted for a very stylish and modern black tie look for his wedding day.
As soon as they were happy with their ties and buttonholes they made their way over to The Castlefield Rooms for the ceremony.
Their Sons Kyle and Lenny then made their way over to the Lockkeepers Cottage to see their Mum in her dress.
Ellie (the amazing co-ordinator at The Castlefield Rooms) was then on hand helping them all navigate that Manchester rain…
An Emotional Castlefield Rooms Ceremony
Even on a typically Northern rainy day, the natural light that spills in to The Castlefield Rooms is beautiful.
This modern Manchester venue was perfect for their smaller, more intimate wedding ceremony plans.
Guests were greeted by a violinist as they took their seats and James tried to hide his nerves.
A Family Orientated Wedding Day
The Bridesmaids made their way down the aisle first, escorted by the handsome pageboys.
It was then Claire’s turn to walk down the aisle on the arm of her eldest son, Kyle.
James wiped away his tears when he saw them for the first time and had the rest of the guests crying too!
They said their vows, exchanged wedding rings and walked back down the aisle to cheers and confetti…

Wedding Videography The Castlefield Rooms
The Castlefield Rooms is a unique wedding venue right in the heart of Manchester.
It’s surrounded by incredible photo (and video) opportunities with it’s industrial mills, canals and railways.
The railway arches around Deansgate are a great backdrop to help you capture some incredible moments on your wedding day.
Claire and James has their incredibly talented friend Michelle Collier (Weddings By Michelle Louise) on photo duties, who very kindly recommended me to them too!
We had fun exploring around the Locks and The Castlefield Rooms capturing a few moments of the couple together as their guests made their way to the main wedding reception.

A Unique Wedding Reception in Manchester
Their smaller guest list for the wedding ceremony were invited to enjoy canapes and drinks upstairs in Dukes 92 first.
Despite the rain, Michelle also managed to squeeze in a few formal family group shots by the stairs.
Whilst we nipped out with the couple to get some fun shots for their photos and video, the guests then made their way to the main reception room at The Castlefield Rooms.
In contrast to their intimate wedding ceremony with lots of happy tears, their wedding reception was bursting at the seams!
They opted for a more informal and fun plan for their wedding reception at The Castlefield Rooms.
Gone were the table plans, sit down meal and formal wedding speeches.
Instead they encouraged guests to mingle and had Six16 DJ’ing throughout the night to keep everyone dancing!
Bring On The Bongos, and A ‘Second’ Dress!
Firstly Claire surprised James and the guests with a ‘second’ dress.
It threw James at first and I could see her explaining how you could take the big skirt off during their first dance (which was so cute!).
Guests then joined them on the dancefloor and it stayed full for the rest of the evening thanks to their amazing DJ.
But, that wasn’t the last of the surprises…
Six16 also had a Sax player and Bongos to lift the party spirit even more!
