Bashall Barn near Clitheroe in the Ribble Valley is an elegant and modern wedding venue that was the perfect setting for this wedding.
Yet another storm (I forget the name) was in full force in the hills around the wedding venue so it made for some interesting moments on the odd occasion we braved the outdoors!
With lots of little elements involved from some of the things they loved (singing, country music, Lord of the Rings and Peaky Blinders to name a few), this really was a well thought out and personal wedding celebration.
Here’s their longer ‘Feature Film’ to show off that amazing day over at Bashall Barn, including lots of audio from the day (so a little bit different to the ‘Highlights’ I offer as a wedding videographer)
Bashall Barn Wedding ‘Feature’ Video
A Calm Wedding Morning Amongst The Storm
Sara had this day planned to perfection and her Mum was on hand to keep to the schedule and ensure the Groom’s side were just as organised!
Arriving in the morning to stormy skies, gale force winds and a great bridal morning playlist, I got to work capturing all the details from the morning as they got everything (and everyone) ready but the Groom arrived.
The team at Bashall Barn were also busy working away getting both the ceremony room and reception area looking wedding ready. I was excited to see she’d used her Sister in Law’s new chocolate company Kokoa as favours too (do check her out!)
As the girls had the finishing touches done for hair and make-up, we watched through the one way glass as guests were blown past holding on to their hats and fascinators!
As the guys settled down with the guests in the ceremony room overlooking the Ribble Valley rolling hills, we watched Sara’s Dad get emotional seeing his Daughter ready to get married.

A Wedding Ceremony With Beautiful Countryside Views
Walking down the aisle to one of their favourite country songs by Luke Combes, James was caught singing along as Sara made her way down the aisle with her Dad.
A lovely reading was followed by their wedding vows. But the cutest moment goes to Grandad as one of the Best Men who stood up to hand over the wedding rings.
I always love filming these moments as not only can I imagine how special it will be to watch that moment back, you get to hear it all too!
They exchanged rings full of giggles with the most beautiful countryside backdrop of the Ribble Valley hills.
The wind may have been causing chaos outside but it was beautifully calm indoors!
It was time to announce them as Husband and Wife and to head back down the aisle together before being blown out in to the gardens at Bashall Barn (also funny video footage!)

Wedding Reception at Bashall Barn
After an attempt to do confetti in gale force winds, everyone was ushered back inside for the drinks reception and organising the group photos.
They chose Duopix as their wedding photographers who were a pleasure to hang out with!
A very special visit from their family dogs was also a highlight, as they enjoyed a fuss from all the guests and then posing with their Human’s on the balcony at Bashall Barn.
A Beautiful Modern Barn Setting in Lancashire
Bashall Barn really is a unique setting and the way they’ve created spaces that are both rustic yet modern really does make it a beautiful wedding space.
With stunning views from their ceremony room, the bifold doors open out to reveal panoramic views of the Ribble Valley that are unrivalled!
It’s obvious to see why it’s such a popular Lancashire wedding venue!
Not only that but every time I visit, I can see how hard the wedding team work to ensure the day runs smoothly for each couple.
I honestly feel having great staff on hand is one of the key things when I highly recommend wedding venues to my friends and couples!

Wedding Speeches at Bashall (And A Surprise From The Bride!)
So, back to the wedding itself!
It was time to welcome in the new Mr and Mrs to the large reception room at Bashall before they enjoyed the wedding speeches.
Everyone made time to include their Grandad who’d sadly passed away not long before the wedding.
But what had everyone in tears was when our Bride Sara surprised them by standing up to sing the first song she ever sang to James.
Following that, their acoustic singer followed with a song their Grandad loved and had everyone up dancing (and crying) along.
I really do hope the film conveys what a beautiful moment that was and being able to film it for them was an honour.
After a wonderful 3 course meal served by the team at Bashall Barn it was time for the evening celebrations!
A Lively Evening Reception At Bashall
Guests arrived to a fun photobooth with silly props as well as a band warming up by the dancefloor.
After sneaking out for some couple shots in the evening festoon lighting, it was back to cut the cake and take to the floor for their first dance.
Sara then joined the back to sing a few songs for their wedding guests before encouraging some of her family and friends to join her as backing singers!

Natural Wedding Videography at Bashall Barn
If you managed to enjoy their whole Feature film, I’m sure you’ll agree that it looked and felt like a really fun-filled day.
Along with all the tears and emotional moments, it was balanced out with lots of singing and dancing to keep everyone smiling.
