Where do I even start with Kat and Simon’s epic Winter wedding over at Manor House Lindley in Huddersfield?

With live painting, colourful rainbow confetti streamers, a ukele speech from the Bridesmaids and loads of entertainment and food for the guests it really was a treat to film!

There was also amazing conversations all day, from air fryer chat in the morning (very on trend haha) to hearing everyone chatting about the live painter, it was so much fun being their wedding videographer!

Here is their wedding highlights video to show off all the ‘best bits’ (and keep scrolling for more on their wedding day!)

Manor House Lindley Wedding Highlights Video

A Fun Wedding Morning in Huddersfield

If you’ve enjoyed previous wedding video blogs and even my Instagram, you’ll spot that LOVE hanging out with couples on their wedding morning.

I love that it gives me a chance to get to know the family, their dynamics and personalities and lots of opportunity to capture those candid moments I know they’ll love.

But, it also gives everyone time to feel relaxed around me (and my camera) before the formalities (and nerves) kick in!

I arrived to giggling Bridesmaids at Kat’s home in Holywell Green, with hair and make-up well underway. Prosecco was being poured, snacks in the air fryer and that stunning hair vine being perfectly placed.

It was a little quieter and calmer over with Simon at The Shibden Mill. He got ready in his blue tweed before meeting up with his Dad and Groomsmen to head over to their wedding venue.

An ‘First Look’ With Her Dad

Kat’s Dad was so much fun on the morning and it definitely set the tone for the day!

He eagerly awaited Kat coming down the stairs with a big grin and had everyone crying with his reaction.

They grabbed their stunning wedding flowers (created by The Greenhouse Branching Out) and it was time to leave.

Their gorgeous cream camper van was the wedding car of choice so as they made their way to their car, I jumped in with their amazing photographer Georgie and got a head start to the ceremony!

A Wedding Ceremony in The Coach House

As there were two videographers at this Manor House Lindley wedding we got to capture both sides of the couples story!

As I captured Kat getting in her dress and doing a ‘first look’ with her Dad, my second camera person was capturing the Groom and all their guests over at the venue.

As the guests took their seats, Dally (my second) was there to capture Simon’s nerves before the arrival of his future Wife!

Keeping Things Simple

Kat and Simon told me they wanted to keep things simple with a short and sweet civil ceremony.

Standing in front of all your loved ones can feel quite daunting so stripping the service back to it’s basics can be a great way to help keep it short!

My favourite moment captured on video was their first Bridesmaids entrance. As she got to the front she lent in towards the Groom and whispered ‘I Do’, which got him laughing and forgetting the nerves for a moment before Kat walked down the aisle.

They also had an amazing artist doing a live painting as they said their vows, all will be revealed later!

They exchanged rings, enjoyed their first kiss as Husband and Wife and walked down the aisle ready for the party!

An Alternative To Wedding Confetti…

After hearing that the venue had recently banned confetti at weddings the couple were keen to find an alternative!

I’d seen bubbles, sparklers and other options but they really wanted to find something unique for their wedding at Manor House Lindley!

Colourful Wedding Streamers…

Enter the ‘wedding streamer’. Something I’d not heard of before but Kat had spotted online and thought they looked perfect!

Guests assembled outside The Coach House and myself and my second videographer got in to position to capture the chaos.

Little did we know how much chaos!

For a few seconds the frame was filled with incredible rainbow coloured streamers and beaming faces.

And then the couple looked liked they’d been trapped in a spiders web as guests helped peel all the paper streamers off them!

But it was that much fun, they went again with the rest of the guests and it made for some really fun video footage!

And the children at the wedding had fun playing with the aftermath too!

Wedding Reception at Manor House Lindley

After enjoying the fun of the wedding streamers, their lovely photographer Georgie Beck Photography took the immediate family members out to the carpark for photos by the Camper Van.

I love filming the group photos as it always brings with it an element of chaos and fun too! With missing guests, family not listening to their name being called out and the odd heckle from the sidelines it can be brilliant on video!

Guests got to enjoy getting a portrait painted by their talented live artist, Aaron at Event Illustrator whilst enjoying drinks and canapes in the courtyard.

We then snuck the couple off to capture some moments of the two of them at the front of the Manor House.

Manor House Lindley For Your Wedding

As soon as I arrived I could see why this couple chose Manor House Lindley for their wedding venue.

A 5* luxury venue in the heart of Lindley and Huddersfield, it’s known for it’s exquisite food and afternoon teas (one I must go back for!).

Of all the venues I’ve visited over the last 14 years, the attention to detail on the styling within the wedding spaces was exceptional.

I was a little obsessed with that incredible concrete feature wall and the lighting in the main reception room for the wedding breakfast. Honestly, the most perfect backdrop for your wedding speeches!

On To The Wedding Speeches

As a wedding videographer, it’s always a highlight getting to film the speeches.

It’s always fun guessing who’ll have the best one, the speakers are always very honest in letting me know how excited or nervous they are as I sneak their mics on and I do my best to reassure them!

They had a family friend be their toastmaster to help the wedding speeches run smoothly and he did a great job.

The speeches were all a lovely mix of personal, touching and funny. But it was the added Ukulele performance off the Bridesmaids with a song for the couple that had everyone laughing!

Live Painting Big Reveal…

As soon they’d enjoyed their 3 course wedding breakfast, guests were encouraged to enjoy the bar area whilst they got the space ready for the evening entertainment.

Whilst all that was going on, Aaron (their live painter) was adding the finishing touches to their main wedding painting. A painting of their wedding ceremony at Manor House Lindley.

We got to film the couples reaction seeing it for the first time which was lovely!

A First Dance At Manor House Lindley

Before the evening guests arrived, the couple wanted a big confetti shot outside the main entrance to The Coach House.

The big benefit of a Winter Wedding in the UK is that it gets dark early so it was the perfect time to sneak a sparkler shot in!

Guests then made their way back in to the venue to cheer the couple on cutting their cake and taking to the dancefloor for their first dance.

To make that moment extra special, they had their band sing their first dance song live!

The Monotones then played away all evening as guests enjoyed the live music, photo booth and crisp wall as fun little extras!

Natural Wedding Videography at Manor House Lindley

I may be based over in Lancashire but I do love any excuse to head over the border in to Yorkshire for a fun wedding like this!

Manor House Lindley may be one of my new favourite wedding venues in Yorkshire too after filming this wedding!

Kat and Simon booked me for their wedding here as they wanted to capture all those candid moments in a relaxed and natural way and I’d love to think I did just that, and more!
