Where do I even start with this EPIC Winter wedding in Liverpool?
A stylish, fun-filled city wedding with a walking band, multiple iconic Liverpool venues and an emotional Groom makes this video one to watch!
Katie and Tom booked me because they loved what I’d captured for their Cousin’s wedding and wanted the same candid approach to documenting their wedding day too!
If you’re getting ready at The Municipal Hotel, planning a wedding at Liverpool Town Hall or a reception at One Fine Day then this is the perfect Highlights for wedding inspiration…
Liverpool Town Hall and One Fine Day Wedding Highlights Video
A Chilled Wedding Morning Liverpool
This was my first time stepping inside the new kid on the block of boutique hotels in Liverpool, The Municipal Hotel and Spa.
One word. STUNNING!
Wandering my way through the warren of corridors, I finally found my way to the suite where Katie was getting ready on her wedding morning.
Her elegant Trish Peng wedding dress was hanging eagerly by the door as everyone enjoyed a chilled morning chatting and laughing together.
Living up to my ‘more than a wedding videographer’ name, I stepped in with some great steaming tips to help her Mum with some tricky creases in the dress.
I got to enjoy working alongside some of my favourite wedding suppliers on this wedding too, including EmBee Photography and Bethan Steers Hair!
Bethan Steers was working her magic with the wedding hair and B the Bride on make-up. Their little flower girl even had a bit of sparkle, as well as her Brownies companion for the day!
The guys were REALLY keen to get in to town, so after getting ready in record time at home they were on their way to catch up with friends by the Town Hall.
Pre-Wedding Nerves, Excitement and a No Show Taxi…
Our Groom and Best Man had fun figuring out their buttonholes before finishing their pints and heading over to Liverpool Town Hall.
As they welcomed their wedding guests and tried to calm the nerves, it was nearly time for our Bride to leave!
Despite getting ready with her baby boy Joey, she stayed super chilled as she had the finishing touches applied and wowed the room as she finally stepped out in her stunning Trish Peng sleeved wedding dress and veil.
She looked incredible as she waltzed through the The Municipal Hotel’s fancy M Gallery and out on to Dale Street ready for their taxi…that wasn’t there.
It took only a moment to decide to walk the short walk down Dale Street to the wedding ceremony, dress in hand to show off those fabulous emerald green velvet shoes!!!

The Best Wedding Ceremony at Liverpool Town Hall
The iconic Liverpool Town Hall on Dale street, home to the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, is a popular city venue to get married!
The Grade I listed Georgian building was the perfect for this stylish city wedding.
Guests were welcomed in to the stunning Ballroom to sit beneath the 19th Century crystal chandeliers and wait for the Bride to arrive.
Tom tried to control his nerves as the buzz of excited conversation surrounded him…
An Emotional Groom
Katie made her way up the sweeping Town Hall staircase before getting in position to walk down the aisle to Tom.
Her Mum and Dad stood proudly on each arm as the large doors opened up and Sixpence None The Richer began to play.
As soon as Tom turned round to see Katie his emotions came flooding out. I loved filming these moments as it really showed their personalities and beautiful relationship! Katie laughed and offered him a kiss seeing him so emotional.
This might have been the most emotional yet fun wedding ceremony at the Town Hall. Dare I say it, one of the best!!

Castle Street Confetti Outside Liverpool Town Hall
Even when the city is bustling, it only adds to the excitement of having confetti outside of the Town Hall!
With lots of onlookers and VERY excited wedding guests this was great fun to film as the noise really filled the air!
Add to that a surprise walking band who started playing the famous Wedding March, guests showered the couple in confetti as they danced down Castle Street.
A Fun Walking Band To Dance Through Liverpool
The music continued as their walking band ‘Brass Monkees‘ led the couple and their guests to their reception venue.
With the brass band being SO loud and sounding amazing it drew quite the crowd as we made our way round the back of the Town Hall.
As guests caught up, the couple stopped for a dance with the band and their dogs in Exchange Flags.
Being a videographer for this was both fun and chaotic as there was SO much to film! From the dancing couple to amazed guests, and even random onlookers on their lunch break filming on their phones! I could make a whole video just on the walking band!
Liverpool From The Sky – Drone Wedding Footage
You may have spotted something different in this wedding video, a little different to my usual wedding highlights!
Katie and Tom trusted my thoughts on a talented young filmmaker after some work experience filming weddings and he offered to film some stuff on his drone.
Not only did he get some great opening shots of the city of Liverpool but he captured the fun of the walking band heading to One Fine Day too!

Wedding Reception at One Fine Day
One Fine Day really is a hidden gem in such a beautiful city.
Nestled off a side street close to Moorfields station inside the old Cotton Exchange building, they’re really transformed it in to a beautiful wedding and event space!
The cobbled street leading up to the historic Cotton Exchange sign and entrance, it’s like something out of a film or Peaky Blinders. Liverpool is a film set hotspot so it wouldn’t surprise me if it was!
We had to use this amazing backdrop for some couple portraits and video and snuck the couple back out before the formalalites of the wedding reception began.
Inside, with it’s high ceilings and grand marble pillars, it really is a beautiful blank canvas for a city wedding.
One Fine Day For Your Wedding
This was my first time filming a wedding at One Fine Day and it was honestly a lovely experience!
For me, what makes a venue stand out is the way the staff/team look after the guests as well as the suppliers.
They were so friendly and went above and beyond, they made the day enjoyable and relaxed for everyone involved!
On To The Wedding Speeches
Once guests took to their seats the couple were announced back in to the room!
Once they’d danced their way to the top table, and Tom had avoided standing on Katie’s beautiful dress and veil, it was time for the first two speeches.
To keep their afternoon more relaxed and flowing, the couple decided to break the speeches up between the courses. Starting the the Bride and Groom first and followed by the Parents and finally the Best Man.
Everyone had some heartfelt words to share but it was the bits that got everyone belly laughing that stick out for me!

Winter Weddings and Evening Sparklers
There’s some extra skill needed as a videographer to film in Winter, being able to work with low available light is a must. For me, Winter light is one of my favourites to work with!
Despite being one for always moaning I’m cold, I LOVE filming a Winter wedding! I’ve learnt to pack a bigger coat!
After all the fun of the speeches, it was time to grab that bigger coat and get everyone outside on the cobbled street to enjoy some sparklers action!
Guests got themselves organised, handing out sparklers to everyone willing to brave the winter chill and working out who had lighters (note: there’s NEVER enough smokers haha).
Matt and I got everyone lined up on the street and the couple at the end so once everyone had their sparklers lit, it was time to have some fun with the photos and video too!
Sneaking Off For Evening Photos and Video as Newlyweds
As we were essentially in the business district of Liverpool, there’s not much choice for funky backdrops and urban street graffiti.
However, this week in October just so happened to be the same week as the infamous River of Light Festival in Liverpool!
So with very little persuasion we walked back over to Exchange Flags with the couple and got some amazing footage of them wandering around the chess themed light installation.
I would suggest this to all my couples. Not only to get some lovely shots of the both of you together for your wedding video but to give you a way to pause the day and help slow things down!
I know for Lee and I on our wedding day, it really does fly by and these little moments really help you catch up and take a breather at the same time!
I swear this (and the wedding video) is the main reason we remembered so much of the day!
Signed, Sealed, Delivered – A First Dance at One Fine Day
Remember their walking band Brass Monkees? Well it turns out they can expand and become an epic evening band for your wedding reception too!
After the couple took to the dancefloor for their first dance to Signed, Sealed, Delivered it was time to party!
The band were amazing at singing all the floor fillers and keeping everyone dancing away and I filmed so much of everyone singing and dancing along!

Candid and Fun Wedding Videography at One Fine Day
I may be a wedding videographer based over in Lancashire but Liverpool is the best city in the world so I LOVE any excuse to jump on the train!
I’ve had the pleasure of filming at Liverpool Town Hall a few times now, including a few Winter weddings. This was my first time at One Fine Day and I do hope it won’t be my last!
Katie and Tom booked me for my more relaxed, fun and candid approach to wedding videography, which suited the style of their day AND we knew would work well alongside their documentary style wedding photographer too.
So if you’ve been looking for a more natural style of wedding videography over the cinematic ‘trying too hard to be romantic’ stuff I’ll be the one for you!
