Ever since I moved to Liverpool as a Media Student (way back in 2001/2002) I’ve been a little bit in love with Sefton Park Palm House.
All these years later I’m finally filming there as an award winning wedding videographer and I can’t even express how excited I’ve been from the moment the couple booked!!
The Palm House is a beautiful and unique Victorian glass house within Sefton Park, filled with historic plants and an experienced team ready to help you have an amazing wedding day!
It really lived up to expectations and I’ve never been so giddy about filming a wedding in my favourite city of Liverpool.
With a team of wedding experts, fun entertainment for their guests and plenty of stylish touches, Kirsty and Josh’s wedding at Sefton Palm House is one I know you’ll love…
Sefton Park Palm House Wedding Highlights Video
A Fun Wedding Morning Liverpool
The couple chose the Hilton in Liverpool One to start their wedding morning.
Our Bride Kirsty enjoyed getting ready in an amazing suite on the top floor, with views of the Docks and the Anglican Cathedral (as well as the John Lewis cafe).
Her Bridesmaids enjoyed a spread of M&S treats to enjoy in their matching PJs, including infamous Percy Pigs and my favourite nachos, whilst relaxing and chatting about the day ahead.
Sophie Griffiths was their chosen hair and make-up artist, who’s skills in a natural make-up really shined!
Over in the Groom’s room, he was back from spending some time setting the Palm House up ready for the big day.
Josh was super organised and even used his own printer to print his wedding speech out whilst waiting for his Parents to arrive.
An ‘First Look’ With Best Friends
We all knew we’d have an emotional ‘first look’ with this lovely group of friends so it was exciting getting in to position to film it, alongside their wedding photographer Rachel Clarke!
Kirsty looked STUNNING, so there were lots of tears to be dabbed away (with a cotton bud, as recommended by Sophie!).

A Wedding Ceremony at Sefton Palm House
Unlike most of my August weddings, Kirsty and Josh were blessed with the most beautiful Summers day for their Sefton Palm House wedding.
Guests arrived at the stunning Victorian Palm House to sit beneath an array of colourful plants in the most beautiful ceremony setting.
A nervous Groom kept himself busy, making sure guests were happy and everything was ready for the arrival of his Bride.
Groomsmaids, Personal Vows and Giggles…
Kirsty and her Bridesmaids arrived in style in the vintage VW Campervan.
Her Mum walked down the aisle first, followed by her Bridesmaids with the string quartet, Harmony String, playing beautifully beneath the historic plants and flowers.
Kirsty then made her own way down the aisle, catching a few of the delicate eucalyptus in her veil on the way! Despite some guests trying to remove it discreetly, it led to lots of giggles and a fun way to start the ceremony!
As well as two readings, Kirsty and Josh said their own personal vows in front of their wedding guests. Followed by their Groomsmaid handing over the rings to complete their wedding ceremony.
After the formalities it was time to dance back down the aisle as Husband and Wife and enjoy the drinks reception in the sunshine!

Petal Confetti Outside The Palm House
It’s the classic shot we all know and love, confetti outside the historic Sefton Palm House!
With the sunshine, blue skies and cheering guests, it was a fun confetti line to film. The couple made the most of it and enjoy a kiss as they were showered in natural petal confetti!
As a wedding videographer, I LOVE filming this bit! It makes for a lovely moment with the couple but it’s the guest reactions that really add to it!
I’m sure you can see what I mean from the highlights video, as well as these wedding video stills!
A Sunny Drinks Reception at Sefton Palm House
Guests then got to enjoy drinks and canapes in the Palm House gardens, along with photo opportunities with the VW Camper and fun garden games.
Rachel Clarke Photography whizzed through the group shots in the shade of the Palm House before sneaking the couple off for some couple shots.
It was then time for everyone to make their way back in to the Palm House, ready for the formal wedding breakfast and speeches…

Wedding Reception Sefton Palm House
We all thought the setting was stunning enough for the ceremony but it looked even better set up for a stylish wedding reception.
The sun was beginning to dip down behind the trees in Sefton Park and left a warm glow over the Palm House space.
The venue really does speak for itself so there’s no need for fancy table or venue styling here!
The couple kept it personal with a nod to their favourite birds for the table names, even making a fun quiz for their guests to enjoy whilst they dined.
Sefton Park Palm House For Your Wedding
I can’t lie, filming a wedding at Sefton Park Palm House has been on my bucket list since I started as a videographer in 2010!
Finally filming a wedding here, I can see why it’s one of the most sought after wedding venues in Liverpool and Merseyside.
Not only does it come with it’s own fascinating history, it’s a truly unique space to celebrate a wedding with your favourite people.
Sefton Park’s ‘Great Conservatory’ is what they call it on their homepage, it was a gift to Liverpool by a local benefactor, opening to the public in 1896 it quickly became a popular visitor attraction.
Now it’s looked after by Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust and their wedding team are true experts on helping you have an incredible wedding in this iconic space!
On To The Wedding Speeches
As a wedding videographer, wedding speeches are a priority to get right. To anticipate the best position to be in, to ensure the correct mics are in the optimum place and ensure we are ready ahead of time.
I’m a bit like the swan analogy on the day, gracefully floating around the reception but it’s my brain paddling away a million miles an hour!
But it’s always worth it, especially when the wedding speeches are so well thought out and personal as these ones were
They had the Maid of Honour and best friend be their toastmaster to help the wedding speeches run smoothly and she did a great job.
Kirsty even declared the feminist in her made her want to stand and do her own wedding speech!

Sparklers, Photo Booths and Evening Entertainment
After all the fun of the speeches, it was time for the venue to get the space in Sefton Palm House ready for the evening.
Guests got to enjoy the Palm House gardens under the festoon lights, as well as a fun retro style photo booth by Selfie Star!
It was then time for the sparklers on the steps of Sefton Palm House, in which we helped their photographe coordinate and get everyone ready for the shot!
A First Dance At Sefton Park Palm House
As guests made their way into the Palm House once more, it was time to announce the couple in for their first dance!
Not only did they pick an upbeat song, they also made time to learn some choreography too! This was not only great to video but it was also fun for the guests who couldn’t help but sing and cheer along!
After setting the mood for a more upbeat and lively evening, guests joined them on the dancefloor under the stars and neon lights to dance the night away…
