Iscoyd Park is a gorgeous Georgian country house wedding venue near Wrexham. Right on the borders of North Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire.
Wedding suppliers I know that work there rave about it as the perfect wedding venue for couples and on my first visit to this beautiful setting I can see why!
Leanne and Gareth found me thanks to their wedding photographer (Jaine Briscoe-Price) very kindly recommended me to work alongside her.
Their whole wedding day would be celebrated at Iscoyd Park and after lots of chats before the big day I couldn’t wait to see how all their planning ideas came together.
Here’s a wedding blog all about their wedding day at Iscoyd along with their very natural yet fun wedding highlights video…
Iscoyd Park Wedding Highlights Video
A Relaxed Wedding Morning at Iscoyd Park
Leanne started her morning getting ready at a beautiful, recently renovated cottage on the Iscoyd Park Estate.
I’m told they didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor hot tub due to a recent tanning session but it looked like the perfect setting to stay over with your closest friends and family before the big day!
They had their hair and make-up done there before moving over to Iscoyd Park to get Leanne in to her stunning wedding dress.
Gareth arrived early at Iscoyd for photos with Jaine Briscoe-Price and her assistant in the library and bar areas as they waited for their wedding guests to arrive.
It was soon time for Gareth to wait inside the Iscoyd’s Garden Room with the guests and for Leanne to make the decent down the stunning staircase…
The Garden Room Ceremony at Iscoyd
The Garden Room looked stunning. I love how the simple feature of a flower arch (or moongate I think they’re also called) really made the bright space feeling extra special.
The Bridesmaid’s entered first carrying their daughter Mila (who was having a well timed nap after a busy morning!) before Leanne got to walk down the aisle. A string quartet played as she made her way to meet Gareth.
I LOVE filming wedding ceremonies. There’s the pressure of getting the right angle of the walk down the aisle (as we all know you’d LOVE to relive seeing everyone’s faces, especially your partners reaction to seeing you for the first time).
But I also love that despite the traditional format of a civil ceremony, you can never plan for the little spontaneous moments and giggles. They’re what I love looking out for!
Wedding Videography at Iscoyd Park
As they walked out as newlyweds Kate, their wedding coordinator, ushered them in to a private room to enjoy a drink together as they got guests ready for confetti at the front of Iscoyd Park.
I don’t know why I love filming confetti so much as a videographer but I do love the fun it brings. From over excited faces and squeals captured on camera to the one (or two) guests who try to stick confetti in to the wrong places!
It was then time for us to take a wander with their photographer to get some relaxed and romantic couple shots around the gardens before the rain came.
And yes, that’s Jaine’s assistant running behind them with a smoke bomb for dramatic effect during their photos…
A Relaxed Wedding Reception and Speeches
As with every Welsh wedding I’ve had the pleasure of filming, the speeches are never quite to the ‘traditional’ set up of ‘Father of the Bride, Groom and Best Man.
As videographers we have the additional fun challenge of being ready for spontaneous guest thank yous and people wanting to step up to the mic to speak too!
Leanne’s Mum was a little nervous up first but after I got her a stool to rest her notes and (hopefully) some words of encouragement, she delivered a really heartfelt speech about Leanne growing up.
We had speeches in Welsh and English, and some even repeated in both! The Best Men also managed to get some laughs and embarrass the Groom!
Evening Celebrations and Dancing (finally!)
Why do I say ‘finally’? Well, this was one of the first weddings after all the Covid restrictions and dancefloors were actually starting to be ‘allowed’ at weddings!
So once guests had finished relaxing after their meal, the Garden Room was made in to an amazing evening space ready for all the dancing.
But first, Leanne and Gareth got to start the evening off with their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s Perfect. Mila then joined them towards the end and it was so cute filming them singing the lyrics to her!
