I’m so pleased that Laura and Andy chose us to capture their day on video at Mottram Hall in Cheshire. We were made to feel so welcome and that really helped us capture so many personal moments throughout the day for their wedding video.
It also helped me pick THE perfect song for their highlights film…
I was so touched by Laura and Andy’s reaction that I thought I would share it with you –
A good friend of my husband passed our details on to a very excited Bride to be a while back and before I knew it we were emailing and Facebooking away like we’d known each other for years.
Laura was very much like me when I was planning, all about lists and thinking about the smaller details. It was amazing to see all the hard work that she’d put in to bring it all together and I really think she’d make an impressive wedding planner or handmade stationary designer one day!
On the day itself the weather couldn’t make it’s mind up but that wouldn’t dampen my spirits-or anyone elses!
I arrived nice and early at the stunning Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire to capture the Bridal party getting ready and a huge tin of celebrations-did you know they’d stopped adding the galaxy truffel one in? Madness!
Anyway, the morning was lovely and calm with lots of smiley faces and making my job of filming them all very easy! The Groom was also getting ready at Mottram Hall and after the disappointment of not arriving in the planned Aston Martin (it had a crash on the way up!) he was treated to some lovely gifts from Laura. One he was happy to try straight away…
Before we knew it everyone had had their makeup and hair expertly applied by Amanda Jones and were ready to help Laura in to her stunning Maggie Sottero gown.
An emotional Mottram Hall Wedding Ceremony
We made our way through Mottram Hall ready for the ceremony. I captured some lovely moments with Laura and her Dad and also a funny moment when she said she’d make him cry by telling him how much the dress cost! The Bridesmaids made their entrance and Laura tried her best to hold back the tears as she made her way towards her future husband, Andy.
The string trio, Minerva Ensemble, played beautifully before the ceremony and helped create a really magical atmosphere. It was hard not to feel a little emotional!
The day continued as it began with lots of laughter and a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
With the rain holding off it was time for some photos captured by Mick Cookson (you can see some of their wedding photographs by following this link). The pressure was now off with the ceremony over so Andy let his hair down with a bit of lunging…
Speeches were held before the meal to keep with the relaxed feeling of the day. The room looked stunning and the details Laura had thought of really added to the personal feel of their day.
The speeches are one of my favourite parts of any wedding-even though I have heard a lot-and these didn’t disappoint. Tears and laughed flowed around the room during all the speeches but the best bit had to be when the Best Man read out a letter from the Chairman of Rochdale FC.
I honestly think Andy thought it was a wind up at first so when he realised Laura had arranged it he just looked gob-smacked! The food was to die for and we were treated to all 3 courses while we reviewed what we had captured so far.
The evening proved to be a hit with guests.
As well as two cakes (Andy decided he suddenly didn’t like fruit cake after they’d order one, I’m told!), an entertaining first dance and the amazing Augustus Gloops chocolate fountain (yes, I did have a taster!), they also kept guests entertained with hats and shades to dance all night with a Blue’s Brothers tribute act!
