If you’d love to see a wedding video that’s fun, relaxed and all about family then you’ll LOVE this one from Danielle and Jamie’s wedding day at Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat in Staffordshire.

Every August we seem to find the weather isn’t on our side for wedding planning.

I should know, I got married on a August Bank Holiday in the Wirral and after a glorious day on the Saturday it chucked it down most of the day on the Sunday…our wedding day!

So with that wonderful experience I know it can’t be helped but I don’t think that helps any couple getting married and obsessively checking their weather app in the run up to the big day.

The weather had took a turn for the worst and I know despite having her heart set on an outdoor ceremony at Moddershall Oaks the staff were ensuring the indoor space looked stunning to make up for it.

Here’s their wedding highlights video showing off how much fun you can have despite the rain…

The guys had decided to get ready at home so my assistant Paul headed down the M6 to film a bit of those getting ready as we know everyone loves seeing both sides of the wedding morning!

Lots of banter and whisky pouring later and they were soon on their way to Moddershall Oaks.

The girls got to get ready in the Blush Lounge so it became this fun, girly environment with everyone getting their hair and make-up done together.

Even their son Jacob enjoyed spinning around on the chairs before he had a quick pre-wedding nap!

The rain eased off just in time for the boys to arrive and make their way over to the ceremony room (as the girls all hid in their coordinating pink and white retro style matching PJs).

It was then time to get Jacob in his cute little bow tie and page boy outfit before getting Danielle in to her stunning fitted wedding dress…

Moddershall Oaks has the perfect way to get from the suites down to the ceremony room without needing to set foot outside (in the crazy winds and rain) so all the bridal party managed to make it without a hair being out of place!

The Best Man rushed off to get some emergency tissues for the Groom before the music started and he got to see Danielle for the first time as she walked down the aisle.

They said their vows and exchanged wedding rings as little Jacob shouted out ‘Daddy’ every now and then which got lots of ‘ahhhhhs’ from the guests!

They were soon skipping back down the aisle as husband and wife and ready to enjoy ice cream (albeit indoors) and drinks with their excited wedding guests.

As a wedding videographer it’s always nice filming this part of the day as everyone’s starting to relax after the more formal wedding ceremony and I can film more natural moments of everyone enjoying themselves.

Their wedding photographer Lee Kirby then had the fun task of getting all the group shots done inside before everyone got seated for the wedding breakfast.

After a wonderful sit down meal it was time to film the wedding speeches!

Now I’ve been a wedding videographer at a lot of weddings and heard a lot of wedding speeches.

I can confirm it was great to hear some personal stories (they thankfully avoided any obvious Google help!) and Jay even had to pause to fight back the tears at a few points!

The Best Man did drop a few f bombs but he had the room rolling around laughing so I think he did a great job on his wedding speech too (I’ll be sharing some of that if they go on to book a longer wedding video for sure!)

The rain was still on and off but it took little persuasion to get them to come for a stroll outside with us and the photographer.

I feel it’s really important to take a few moments like this, just the two of you.

Not only because it helps you both pause the day and little and enjoy a proper chat without guests BUT it also means you’ll get some really lovely, natural moments of the two of you enjoying just being married (even the camera shy admit to loving this bit afterwards, especially when they see their video!).

It was then time to cut the cake and make their way to the dance floor!
