Isla Gladstone Wedding Video
They say some things are worth the wait and surely weddings are one of them?
For Emma and Jay, their dream wedding at The Isla Gladstone in Liverpool finally went ahead on their 4th date after lots of pandemic hiccups along the way.
I’ve been a professional wedding videographer for over 11 years and I really felt I was coming along for the bumpy ride with this lovely couple. I’d never experienced anything like it for wedding planning so all I could do was ensure their experience with me was as simple and stress free as it could be to help with all the challenges!
So here’s a little insight in to how amazing it can be when you’ve waited so long to celebrate your wedding day. Let Emma and Jay show you how it’s done over in Liverpool…

Natural and Relaxed Wedding Videography For Chilled Couples
With 4 dates and lots of extra wedding chats, I’d had the pleasure of really getting to know Emma and Jay along their wedding planning journey.
Like all my Love Gets Sweeter couples, they were all about chilled vibes and wanting a relaxed yet fun wedding day. So my natural and candid approach to wedding videography and documenting their wedding day was the perfect fit!
I started the morning filming Emma and her Bridal party getting ready at her parents house over the water. Whilst my second camera assistant was capturing the guys getting ready at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool.
I always love cutting the films together to show the contrast in wedding mornings!

A Personal Celebrant Led Ceremony
With the pandemic causing quite the drama with re-sheduling dates Emma and Jay couldn’t get a registrar for their official wedding date. It only made them get creative and they invited Uncle K**bhead (their affectionate term, not mine) to officiate the ceremony instead.
Having a celebrant led wedding ceremony really makes the celebration personal. He was able to share his own stories, alongside personal vows and a few jokes in-between!
Emma looked incredible as she walked down the sweeping steps at The Isla Gladstone to make her way down the aisle to Jay and it was so nice filming all the guests reactions to her too!
As a wedding videographer it is always an honour to be asked to capture these meaningful parts of someone’s life…

Hugs, Kisses and A Stroll Around Isla Gladstone
Once they exchanged rings and Uncle K announced them as husband and wife they made their way down the aisle to a few fistfuls of confetti in the face!
Everyone made their way in to Isla Gladstone as Sweetpea and Ivy put the finishing touches on the reception space. It really did have an Art Deco wow factor under the historic Victorian glasshouse roof!
As guests were invited to take their seat, Rachel Joyce Photography and I went for a wander around the grounds at Isla Gladstone to capture some natural couple moments.
As cringy as some of us may find the idea of doing this I ALWAYS recommend making time for some shots alone.
Not only will you get some lovely moments with just he two of you, it also gives you a bit of a breather from a busy day! I find it helps you remember more of it then too. Kinda like pressing pause…

An Art Deco Inspired Reception – Isla Gladstone
Their toastmaster announced in the top table before everyone stood to welcome the newlyweds in to the reception space.
The Art Deco inspired styling looked amazing within the conservatory and the addition of afternoon tea for the meal made it feel very cool and vintage!
Speeches followed the meal and as you’ll see from their wedding highlights video, there were lots of things said to make everyone laugh out loud.
An Evening Reception at Isla Gladstone
The sun began to dip behind the dock road buildings and cast a beautiful light over Isla Gladstone.
It would’ve been rude not to make the most of it so Rachel and I whisked them off for 5 more minutes in what we call the ‘golden hour’ before it was time for the evening celebrations.
They cut their wedding cake then took to the floor as husband and wife.
Guests soon joined them and I had fun filming everyone showing off their best wedding dance moves!
