A Romantic Winter Wedding at Ashfield House
There are SO many reasons Ashfield House is one of the best wedding venues in Lancashire. Probably even the North West!
I can’t list them all but my stand out reasons include the warm welcome you’ll receive from their attentive staff, the incredible food and the ‘homely’ vibes.
I’m sure there were many other reasons Rachael and Scott chose Ashfield House for their wedding reception and I was excited to be the wedding videographer to capture it all for them!
Here is their wedding highlights video to show off all the ‘best bits’…
Ashfield House Wedding Highlights Video
A Wedding Morning at Home
If you’ve enjoyed previous wedding video blogs and even my Instagram, you’ll spot that I’m a HUGE fan of filming in the morning.
I love that it gives me lots of opportunity to capture genuine and candid moments but also give everyone chance to feel relaxed around me (and my camera)!
I arrived to a calm bridal prep at Rachael’s Parent’s home in Crossens, with hair and make-up well underway with Sophie Jakeman (SJ Faces Lancashire) in charge.
Sarah from The Rose Boutique Wigan had everyone gushing over the flowers once she arrived (I’d had a sneak peek by complete accident when shopping at Taylors Farm Shop the previous day!).
Over at their home in Churchtown, Scott was getting help with his tie and ensuring everyone looked their best before making their way to the Church.
An ‘First Look’ With Her Parents and Bridesmaids
Myself and Sophie stepped in to help Rachael in to her stunning wedding dress as her lovely Mum felt too nervous to try the zip, something I’m always happy to do.
She then made her way down the stairs to lots of big grins from her Dad and Bridesmaids. I LOVE filming this bit!
It was then up to Magnolia Classic Cars to get everyone to the church on time, and they did amazing at keeping everyone calm and showing off their expertise in true classic cars!

A Traditional Church Ceremony in Churchtown
Guests began to gather in the Winter sun outside St Cuthbert’s Church in Churchtown before being ushered inside.
A truly magnificent traditonal church, it really was the picture perfect setting for their wedding ceremony.
An Emotional Groom During The Ceremony
Scott held it together all morning but it became too much once he turned to see his Bride walk down the aisle with her Dad.
After wiping away the tears, they enjoyed sharing their vows and exchanging wedding rings in front of their guests.
They enjoyed sealing it with a kiss before walking back down the aisle at St Cuthberts as Husband and Wife.

Wedding Reception at Ashfield House
After enjoying the confetti at group photos outside their Church, they made their way over to Ashfield House for their wedding reception.
The amazing staff at Ashfield House were ready and waiting for a warm welcome for both the couple and their guests (and myself!).
After enjoying a few moments with guests in the lounge the couple were whisked off for a few couples portraits in the gardens.
They’d chosen the lovely Ian MacMichael (Unposed Wedding Photography) as their wedding photographer and we had fun laughing with the couple as we captured some lovely moments in the Winter sun.

Wedding Style and Wedding Speeches
I knew I’d be in for a visual treat after chatting to Racheal about her wedding plans before the big day but she outdid herself!
The main reception room looked stunning, keeping things simple with neautral whites, creams and taupe.
Paper Doll’s stationary really ellivated the whole feel of the wedding with the stunning pieces!
The little details weren’t missed and guests loved looking around the room before taking their seat for the meal and wedding speeches.
Rachael gave a beautiful Bride’s speech before her new Husband stood for his Speech. Both had people smiling and crying along!
Then it was time for the Best Man who found that fine line of kind words and a little bit of embarrassing the Groom!

Live Music and A Little Bit Of Magic…
As soon as they told me they’d hired Zanda Magic for the ‘lull’ between the meal and evening I knew I’d have some amazing moments to film!
I’d already witnessed his talent at a previous wedding at West Tower so I was excited to see more!
He had guests confused, amazed and most with their mouths wide open as he performed some amazing close hand magic for their guests.
The wonderful acoustic duo helped create a chilled ambience with their live music too!

A First Dance At Ashfield House
As evening guests arrived they were treated to a photo-booth as well as the live music and magic.
It was then time for them to make their way back in to the main room at Ashfield House for the cake cutting and first dance.
Scott has chosen their first dance song and they sang along to Elvis, Can’t Help Falling In Love With You.
Their guests joined them on the dancefloor as they danced the night away.

Natural Wedding Videographer at Ashfield House
I really do love heading over to Ashfield House in Standish as it’s one of my local venues, only being 15 minutes away in Burscough!
I also love it because it’s always a pleasure to work alongside the staff their, and they’re always so welcoming and friendly (as well as feeding us dessert…what a treat!).
I find it a joy capturing natural moments around Ashfield House and I think that as they help couples feel so relaxed on the day, it means I can capture truly candid moments of them too
