Despite filming weddings all over the North West since 2010, I still get the chance to work at wedding venues for the very first time! This time it was a pleasure to film at Larkspur Lodge in Knutsford for Savannah and Lee’s stylish black tie wedding!
Cheshire seems to be THE county for stunning wedding venues and Larkspur Lodge, tucked away down a country lane in Knutsford, really didn’t disappoint. A beautifully restored 200 year old barn with rustic details and even vintage cinema chairs in the ceremony room (which I LOVE being a film lover!!).
Here’s a little peek in to Savannah and Lee’s spring wedding at Larkspur. Full of emotion, connection and LOTS of dancing with their incredible family and friends. They really are Better Together…
Savannah and her HUGE Bridal party had the tunes on high volume as I arrived to Larkspur with the sun shining down! Hair and make-up was well under way for both the Bride and her Bridesmaids. The champagne satin gowns were hanging beautifully beside Savannah’s off the shoulder dress with an oversized bow detail, I couldn’t wait to see her in it!
The boys all got ready down the road at DeVere Cranage Mere Hotel in Crewe before enjoying a ride in their friends vintage VW campervan.
When couples are considering hiring a wedding videographer the morning stuff (sometimes called ‘morning prep’ in the industry) doesn’t seem worth filming but I can assure you, it’ll be one of your highlights to watch back! It helps take you right back to the build up, the excitement and nerves you both had surrounded by your favourite people!
Everyone was fighting the tears back as they saw Savannah in her wedding dress for the first time. But they were soon cracking open the ‘pink pony’ shots to help set a party tone for the day ahead! However, once Grandad arrived to see her it was all tears again!

The candles were lit and guests made their way to their vintage cinema seats ready for the ceremony at Larkspur Lodge. The song they chose for Savannah to walk down the aisle to was a song that meant a lot to them both and was a favourite song of Lee’s Mum who sadly passed away when he was 17. It felt like an amazing way to have her there to celebrate their love.
After emotional vows and readings, the couple enjoyed a little dip kiss and danced out into the sunshine outside. Guests spilled out onto the lawn and got themselves ready for the confetti walk! Always one of my favourites to film!

After that it was simple enjoying mingling in the sunshine with their wedding guests as their acoustic singer had everyone singing along to an amazing set list!
The roar was HUGE as the couple were announced into the main rustic barn for their wedding reception! Guests danced and waved their napkins around as they found their way to the top table. A classic northern dish of pie was on the menu before it was time to enjoy the wedding speeches.

Once again guests went on to enjoy that spring sunshine outside Larkspur Lodge whilst the couple enjoyed a few moments for some couple photos and more mingling! It was then time for a flurry of evening entertainment to film! From a sparkler shot, to a prosecco tower and then on to the first dance. Guests were in high spirits and couldn’t wait to join them on the dancefloor.
Now, as a videographer I do say I stay until the first dance but when your dancefloor is as packed as this one it would be rude not to stay a little longer to ensure I can capture that evening atmosphere for you to relive!
Oh and they let me on their surprise of having their cats join them for a dance, so I had to stay for that…

If you’re planning your wedding at Larkspur Lodge (or anywhere else in Cheshire!) and love the idea of a relaxed, natural wedding video that feels true to you, I‘d love to hear from you.
