Fun Summer Wedding at The Aviary Ormskirk
After booking me at a wedding open evening at The Aviary Ormskirk, Sian and Adam were brilliant at keeping me up to date on their wedding plans!
This modern Lancashire wedding venue was the perfect blank canvas for their Summer wedding. With an outdoor ceremony, garden games and a huge white bouncy castle, there was a lot of entertainment for their guests!
For this couple, I captured this in a ‘hybrid’ approach. Documenting all the fun in both photo AND video!

A Sunny Wedding Morning in Southport
If you’ve enjoyed previous wedding video blogs and even my Instagram, you’ll spot that filming a wedding morning is a MUST.
I know before the day it feels like a weird one to film but I can promise you, it’s one part of the day you’ll love watching back! It also gives everyone time to feel relaxed around me (and my camera) ensuring I can capture that natural footage you’ll like!
I arrived to sunshine streaming through the windows of their new home in Southport that they were renovating. Sam from Ruby Slippers was working her magic for hair and make-up and the excitement was building.
Sunflowers and Campervans
Sian and Adam’s super relaxed vibes lent itself to the relaxed styling, with beautiful bright sunflowers and pale blue hues.
After getting ready with his Best Man, Adam enjoyed a Boho Brides Campervan ride to The Aviary and got to work organising the surprises they had planned.
Thank you to the sunshine, they got to enjoy an Outdoor ceremony in the gardens too. With simple white chairs decorated with bright sunflowers, it suited their celebrant led ceremony perfectly.

Thankfully the weather was onside for their June wedding so they got to enjoy an outdoor wedding in the gardens at The Aviary Ormskirk.
With a white pagoda next to the pond, it’s a beautiful setting for a ceremony outside.
A Heartfelt Celebrant Ceremony
Annie, the Rivington Celebrant, hosted a beautifully personalised ceremony.
With a hand fasting including their children, as well as wedding ring blessing (that included hiding the rings for a guest to find under their chair!), they really included their guests in their celebrations.
With a dip kiss and a smile, the happy couple got to walk down the aisle and start their wedding party!
Confetti? What About Wedding Bubbles!
This couple were after an alternative to wedding confetti and loved the idea of a bubble run. To make an impact they invested in some bubble guns as well as wands!
It not only looked great with the bubbles floating around, it was great filming all the guests having fun with it too.
Wedding Reception at The Aviary
To fit with the relaxed vibes, the reception was all about enjoying good conversations and hugs with their loved ones.
With garden games, beer pong and a giant white bouncy castles (all likely for the adults) it was all about having fun during their wedding reception.
A Wedding BBQ and Ice Cream Van
Instead of canapes, guests got to enjoy a visit from a local ice cream van!
And instead of a formal sit down meal, they opted for the infamous Aviary Ormskirk BBQ.
In-between all that we squeezed in some of the traditional family photos on the lawn before sneaking off for some couple portraits in the sunshine.
A First Dance At The Aviary Ormskirk
Guests got to enjoy a crisp and doughnut wall before they made their way inside for the evening entertainment.
The couple kept to the tradition of cutting their wedding cake before taking to the dance floor for their first dance.
Guests soon joined them and enjoyed dancing the night away!
