Summer Wedding at Comberemere Abbey

Combermere Abbey on the Cheshire/ Shropshire borders is a beautiful setting for a typically English wedding in the countryside.

One of my favourite things about just the idea of having a wedding here is that you can enjoy the excitement of your wedding with everyone you love all in one place.

The on site Combermere Abbey Estate courtyard cottages mean you really get all the wedding morning feels staying over with your bridesmaids and groomsmen!

They have lots of options around the estate to enjoy your wedding ceremony too!

From their stunning Edwardian Glasshouse set within their fruit trees or you could opt for an outdoor ceremony instead.

And that’s just what Jess and Chris did.

Enjoyed the full Combermere Abbey wedding experience by making the most of getting ready in the cottages and opting for a beautiful outdoor garden wedding ceremony too…

A Relaxed Wedding Morning on Combermere Abbey Estate

Both Jess and Chris got to enjoy a relaxed wedding morning at the Combermere Abbey Courtyard Cottages and it was a hive of activity as people were in and out all morning.

The buzz of excitement after all the tricky wedding planning through a pandemic was so wonderful to see.

It really was a pleasure to capture as their wedding videographer!

The guys got to enjoy breakfast together before sharing gifts and getting dressed for the wedding ceremony.

Once the hair and make-up was done it was time for Jess to get in to her wedding dress. Her Bridesmaids were amazing at keeping her calm, relaxed and always smiling!

A Romantic Outdoor Ceremony at Combermere

The summer sunshine arrived just in time for their romantic outdoor ceremony at Combermere Abbey.

They chose to tie the knot in the walled gardens where Jess got to enjoy a scenic walk down the aisle.

A few guests couldn’t make the day and many lived abroad so they got to dress up and enjoy the live Zoom feed which the Groomsmen set up!

Their happy smiles say it all and it was a joy to film all the reunions and celebratory hugs and kisses after they said ‘I Do’…

Candid Moments In The Cheshire Sunshine

This is one of my favourite parts as a videographer and the bits my couples love watching back. Everyone having the BEST time.

Totally natural, candid moments from your wedding day of you and your favourite people.

By this point everyone’s forgot the camera is even there so I can be super discreet and capture everyone being themselves!

Newlywed Moments Around The Combermere Estate

Then we (myself and their talented wedding photographers, Tobaiah and Laura Tayo) whisked the couple down by the lake and the historic Abbey.

The perfect setting for some relaxed photos and video of just the two of them.

At this point it was super hot but thankfully there was some shade to enjoy, and some time just the two of them, before heading back to their wedding guests!

Wedding Speeches and a Relaxed Reception

Oh how I’ve missed the stories we get to hear filming the wedding speeches!

During the pandemic speeches were banned! So these speakers made up for lost time and really got the crowd laughing with their personal stories and jokes.

The marquee at Combermere looks lovely with the little details the couple had added too!

From Sunny Wedding To Torrential Rain…

But from nowhere the heavens opened moments before their planned outdoor first dance in the gardens!

Guests raced inside out of the rain and plans were swiftly changed to allow for a first dance inside the marquee.

Restrictions were still in place (and still a tad confusing) but the couple got to enjoy a dance with their parents after and I loved how they embraced the silliness of the mask restriction despite being with them all day!

Guests enjoyed dancing around the tables, the cake cutting and even a sneaky watch of the Euro’s behind a handbag before we said our goodbyes…

Wedding Videography at Combermere Abbey

I can’t thank Jess and Chris enough for choosing me as their wedding videographer. I knew it would be a fun one to film but it went beyond expectations.

Being able to film a wedding after the chaos of 2020 and capture all those reunions and reconnections was the most heartwarming thing too.

If you’re planning your wedding at Combermere Abbey and after a videographer who can capture natural and candid moments of your day, I’d LOVE to chat…
