Wyresdale Park (or Wyresdale Weddings as it’s also know) is always such a dream to film at (it’s one of my favourite venues in Lancashire!)! Full of charm, tucked-away spots, and that perfect mix of rustic countryside calm and modern elegant styling. But Sarah and Will’s sunny May wedding brought something totally unique to this Lancashire gem: an explosion of bold colour, vintage flair, and a whole lot of love and personality!

From the very first glimpse hanging garlands and Sarah’s vibrant bouquet (think vibrant oranges, fuchsia pinks, and rich corals) to the way Will’s vintage-inspired double breasted cord suit perfectly matched the vibe of the day, this wedding was a joy to capture on film. Their styling felt like a modern twist on retro elegance (check me out) full of fun, without a single moment of stuffiness. If I wasn’t belly laughing, I was crying along with all the beautifully emotional parts! The whole day had this amazing balance of relaxed, real moments and beautifully curated details; the kind that make a videographer’s heart happy and keeps me smiling!

Whether it was the heartfelt vows in the ceremony room, the laughter during the confetti, or those golden-hour portraits as the lambs skipped around the fields, every frame was bursting with colour and emotion and a joy to film! If you’re dreaming of a wedding that mixes creative styling with relaxed vibes, Sarah and Will’s day might just be your perfect inspiration…

A Bold and Colourful Summer Wedding Video – Wyresdale Park

For Sarah and Will, this wedding was a celebration. A perfect way to embed themselves as a couple within their community (their beautiful words). It was truly an honour to be their chosen wedding videographer so this blog is all about my favourite moments!

A Relaxed Morning of Cake and Yoga

I arrived at Wyresdale Park through their new entrance off Factory Brow (not the usual Snowhill Lane) to little lambs grazing on the fields and tropical garlands blowing in the breeze on the new stone courtyard. Over in the North Wing I arrived to a beautifully calm Bridal prep (that’s what we call in as wedding suppliers). Bridesmaids were tidying up after breakfast and Jen from Loft Beauty was already making a start on Sarah’s Bridal hair. Colourful wedding walkie-talkies were being tested and passed out, ready for the day ahead! Along with a check in to the Groomsmen to check on the flowers and how they were feeling.

This is a fun moment that only comes across in video, right? The Groomsmen enjoyed getting ready within the woodland over in the new on site Lodge just a walk down the lane. The guys opted for choosing their own suits in differing hues of brown, with a pale pink tie and details. They really looked the part! a shot of the north wing at Wyresdale Park video still of outside Wyresdale weddings new courtyard with tropical garlands a mother of the bride laughs with her daughter in the kitchen at Wyresdale Park jen at Loft Beauty does bridal make up at Wyresdale Park a groom ties his pale pink tie in the lodge at Wyresdale Park a groomsman steams a wedding shirt the groom smiles at a handmade card from grandad at their wedding a groom hugs wedding guests outside the barn at Wyresdale Park the bride takes her dress off a wardrobe in the north wing at Wyresdale Park videographer captures a friend crying and holding hands with bride getting ready for her wedding at Wyresdale Park My personal highlight of the morning was seeing how attentive and supportive Sarah’s friends and family were. Ensuring she had everything she needed, along with plenty of belly laughs and snacks! She was truly blessed with the most beautiful souls for Bridesmaids and friends! The morning stayed super chilled with Sarah being ready far too early and enjoying a really relaxing time watching everyone else getting ready before making her way upstairs in the North Wing to one of the main bedrooms. It was a really warm day so the breeze through the windows from the hills was most welcome! Her vintage inspired Freda Bennet dress from May and Grace Bridal was a stunning off the shoulder number, with the train adapted to ensure she could spin and dance all night! Tears were shed when she stepped into it and again when she made her way down the staircase to her awaiting Bridal Party. Stil early, they decided to enjoy a few family portraits with their talented photographer Hannah Brooke before making their way over to the main buildings at Wyresdale Park for the ceremony. video still of a groom wiping away tears before a ceremony at Wyresdale Park a bride wearing a vintage style dress with flowers in her hair walks down the stairs bridesmaids wearing bright dresses react to the bride before her Wyresdale wedding ceremony a bride gets emotional seeing her bridesmaids crying excited bridesmaids react to the brides first look at Wyresdale Park

An Emotional Celebrant-led Ceremony in The Ceremony Barn

Our lovely Groom Will was already fighting back tears in anticipation for the arrival of his Bride. Guests took their seats and it was time to enjoy their celebrant-led ceremony in the beautiful white washed barn. Hazel The Rainbow Celebrant led the most beautiful and joy filled ceremony, with a ring blessing with the guests as she shared stories full of love and soul. She’s brilliant at helping create a ceremony less formal and more fabulous! a bride and her Parents take a moment before walking down the aisle at Wyresdale Park videographer captures the grooms reaction to the bride walking down the aisle at Wyresdale Park an excited bride walks down the aisle in the ceremony room at Wyresdale Park guests bless the wedding rings during celebrant led wedding at Wyresdale Park guests laugh along with Hazel the rainbow celebrant and couple the grooms sister hands over the wedding rings couple smile during wedding ceremony at Wyresdale Park couple walk down the aisle at Wyresdale Park

Baskets of Confetti at Wyresdale Park

Guests then made their way out into the bright Summer sun in the courtyard and grabbed handfuls of confetti to help create yet another fun and memorable wedding moment! One thing I’ll always say is that swerving the tiny packets and going for this more informal way to distribute the confetti helps avoid any faff on the day, guests can just get involved and have fun with it! It’s also more environmentally friendly as you’re not wasting tons of sachets that are likely to not get recycled at a busy wedding venue… Drinks and canapes were enjoyed by all before whisking the main wedding party off for some group photos. But they couldn’t just do formal portraits, they had to do it Sarah and Will style! So this made for some really fun video footage of everyone being silly! a candid shot of the wedding confetti outside Wyresdale Park a newly married couple kiss during confetti at Wyresdale Park the bridal party have fun during the formal photos a bride and her bridesmaids with vibrant outfits do silly poses for photo and video the groomsmen try posing for their wedding photos a relaxed video still of a couple in the gardens at Wyresdale Park a couple kiss by an ancient tree in woodland at Wyresdale Park

A Rustic Wedding Breakfast in The White Barn at Wyresdale

Guests were then invited to take their seat within the rustic White Barn where the couple had opted for long banquet tables and minimal styling to create a more informal family style dining experience for their wedding breakfast! The couple were announced into the barn with a cheer and made their way to their seats. The rustic wooden banquet tables were filled with more explosions of colour, with Bluebells and Daisies creating informal centerpieces to tie in their tropical colour scheme. There were plenty of nods to the couples personality with their vinyl table numbers too. After a very British inspired menu for their wedding breakfast they go to take their seats at the front to enjoy their wedding speeches, which were hosted by their friends. More tears, belly laughs and incredible stories of how they met meant I had captured lots of amazing content on video for them! a couple laugh as their announced into the white barn at Wyresdale Park a video still of an emotional bride during her dads speech the couple get emotional during wedding speeches guests laugh during the grooms speech bride giving a wedding speech at Wyresdale Park a couple pose with their vintage inspired cherry topped wedding cake

Capturing Wedding Speeches in Full: You’ll Be Glad I Did!

Like many of my couples, they hadn’t originally planned to have their full wedding speeches filmed but I always capture them in full, just in case. I do this for a few important reasons. Firstly, from experience, I know you don’t truly realise what you’ll want to relive until after the day is over. Secondly, wedding speeches are often unpredictable. You never know when someone’s going to deliver a hilarious one-liner, an emotional surprise, or an unplanned moment that becomes a favourite memory. Filming only snippets for a highlight reel or social media content risks missing those golden moments. By capturing the speeches in full, I’m making sure you have the option to revisit every part of it! Because let’s be honest, you’re unlikely to remember it all in the whirlwind of the day and that’s why you need to hire a professional wedding videographer to help you!

An Evening of Dancing at Wyresdale Weddings

Guests spilled out into the bar and outdoor courtyard to enjoy the last few moments of sunshine. At this point the venue usually encourage the couple to wander down to the lake with the photographer and videographer for some couple portraits on their little rowing boat but Sarah and Will didn’t want to leave their guests (and that party atmosphere) so decided to get a few golden hour shots nearby instead. I loved this about them, they ensure they prioritised what felt right to them on the day and I was more than happy to go with the flow too! Guests then made their way back into the Atrium (or the ‘Party Barn’) ready to watch the Bride and Groom’s first dance. The couple had practiced a few fancy dance moves before welcoming their party guests to dance with them! It was then over to their amazing band, Manhattan Soul Band, to keep the party going into the early hours! After capturing some of the best moves I’ve ever seen at a wedding, it was time for me to dip out and head home. With cards full of amazing footage from the day, I couldn’t wait to get started on the edit. video still of first dance in the party barn at Wyresdale Park the couple show off their rehearsed dance moves
