Ashfield House Wedding Videography

One of Lancashire BEST venues (and the numerous awards they’ve won back that up!) is based in Standish. Ashfield House is a family run wedding venue that claim they ‘are not a Manor, Hall or Estate. We are not a Barn, Hotel or Estate, we are Ashfield HOUSE. Couples take over exclusively for the day, our house becomes like their home.” And it really does!

An exclusive use venue that helps you make the day unique to you. With plenty of ‘blank canvas’ spaces, an incredible team on hand and many creative ideas to help you add some personality to you day, you’re truly in safe hands at Ashfield House.

A little about me

Your Ashfield House Wedding Videographer!

My name is Charlene and I’m a wedding videographer living in West Lancashire who loves to film weddings at one of her FAVOURITE wedding venues!

As an experienced wedding videographer who’s been filming since 2010, it’s all about being discreet and friendly, blending in like a friend (who happens to have lots of experience with a camera). Allowing me to capture those moments you didn’t realise were being filmed.

I went in to the Film and TV industry straight out of college (you can find out more about that on my About Me page) but it was actually editing my own wedding film in 2009 that started me on my wedding videography journey!

What couples love about my film-making approach is the natural ability to anticipate those moments and connections on the day without you being aware I was filming. Friendly and discreet filming is key.

I really do like to live up to the hashtag one of my Groom’s gave me ‘more than a wedding videographer’.

“It is the best decision we made having a videographer and made even better that that videographer happened to be you”

— Sara and Carl

The sitting room

A real plus for this stunning venue is The Sitting Room upstairs. The perfect space to get ready with your favourite people before your wedding! With huge windows filling the room with natural light and plenty of comfy spaces to sit and chat, it helps create a really chilled vibe for your wedding day ahead.

It creates such a relaxed space it’s great for filming you getting ready in the morning. The natural light is ideal for both make-up artists and photographers and videographers! I love that I can easily move around capturing everything really discreetly, from your hair and make-up to your Bridesmaid’s catching up on the sofas

The CEREMONY ROOM

The ceremony room inside Ashfield House is the perfect blank canvas for your wedding. Whether you fancy adding some bold colour or to keep it simple, it lends itself to any style! Holding up to 120 guests for your ceremony, it really is surprisingly spacious.

One thing I love as a videographer is all the space too. I can film discreetly from the front AND the back of the ceremony, getting in great positions to capture all the key moments and ensure you can forget about the cameras!

The WEDDING RECEPTION

Once I’ve filmed guests laughing and enjoying drinks and canapes, it’ll be time for your wedding breakfast! I heard that it’s called the ‘Wedding Breakfast’ as it’s your first meal as a married couple but who knows. Either way, Ashfield House could be the perfect venue to make that meal a memorable one!

The space is another blank canvas for you to style as your heart desires. With large windows and plenty of natural light it’s always a great room to capture the fun of a wedding breakfast, announcing you into the room and of course those wedding speeches!

My approach is all about capturing your day in a discreet way so we tend to set up around the edges of your guests, using longer focal lengths and/or Zoom lenses to get closer to the action. This means your guests can enjoy the speeches without us blocking their view and we aren’t adding to any nerves of those speaking by being out of sight. Having been a guests distracted by suppliers moving around and getting in the way, I do make an effort to avoid this so your experience can be an enjoyable one.

The little extras…

From the inviting entrance to the sweeping feature staircase, Ashfield House gives everyone a warm welcome. What I love is that every space has its own unique character and you’ll find your wedding guests tucked away on various comfy sofas and chairs chatting away until the last song plays!

As someone who’s also attended events here myself, it may also be worth noting that they also organise amazing events that give you any excuse to come back to Ashfield House once you’re married. So many couples tell me they wish their venue offered things like this!

Additionally, having filmed weddings throughout the year I can confirm it’s perfect in any season! Whether it’s a colourful Spring and Summer celebration or a more intimate and cosy Winter one, there are spaces both indoors and in the gardens to for photos and video opportunities.

“Charlene so was discreet and the whole day felt so relaxed and easy…”
