I really do love a good wedding and you can’t get much better than a Royal wedding! I missed out on the last big Royal Wedding (being born in 83!) so I’ve been really excited to be able to do something special to mark this big day!

My wedding preparations started with a full day of baking on the Thursday, ready for my ‘wedding guests’ on the Friday. I made lots of wonderful cupcakes and my famous brownies (I have been known to bake them for any couples who request some at their consultation!). My Great Nanan passed away last year and she passed on her wonderful vintage bone china tea set, perfect for a Royal Wedding Tea party!  My Mother-in-Law even dug out one of her own wedding presents, a silver 3 tiered cake stand! It couldn’t have been more perfect! My friend Laura even managed to get here for the start of the TV coverage at 8am and we watched every minute of the wedding right through to the couple leaving in Charlie’s Aston!

Here are a couple of pictures from the day. The hat made an appearance after we saw some of the wonderful-and bizarre-head wear! It’s actually my Mum’s own custom designed hat from way back in the late 80’s! Then there’s the wonderful cake stand with a lovely selection of our tea party supplies!

I hope you all had a wonderful time celebrating with Catherine and William, and the rest of the country? I would love to hear your stories, how did you celebrate this royal occasion? Did you feel inspired for your own wedding?
